Halga, I want to thank you even more for your support and defense of the High Elves.
You always respond in a very reasoned manner, while remaining restrained and without insults (unlike me ).
I couldn’t do that, considering that haters come here with such stupid arguments against the High Elves.
Well I try as best as I can but sometimes it gets to much, even for me and I take a break few days away or weeks from the forums.
I hope the Silver covenant gets a Embassy in the neutral area of Silvermoon.
Ohh man…this cast on arm is annoying, I hate it. One miss click and the text I wrote was erased…now I have to rewrite everything. 2 hours wasted just as I was finishing…
Anyway…I saw Umbric has have same or similar armor as Alleria. I wonder…if they joined forces with the Silver covenant as the Void elves color was Bronze and Purple before and now it is White/Silver/Black/Blue. I thought it was only Alleria. But it also have the designs of the Ethereals.
The Void stuff from preorder is similar that of Xal’atath homeworld. Hmm I wonder if the Void elves are going to take over Xal’atath home world after Midnight. Leave Telogrus rift for Xal’atath homeworld?
I’m sure You’re capable of following that trail of thought just a little bit longer and realizing that all Blood Elves Called themselves High Elves just a few years ago.
I’m sure You’re capable of following that trail of thought just a little bit longer and realizing that all Blood Elves Called themselves High Elves just a few years ago.
There were High Elf Wayfarers in Telogrus Rift, but now they’re gone. Either Blizzard still has a use for high elves in the story or they were absorbed into the void elves, but given how the only non Void elf NPCs are Sin’dorei, I don’t know.
Look, what I mean is that:
Prior to the third war, Thalassian elves called themselves High Elves. Third war happend around year 20 after the opening of Dark Portal. Void Elves had their recruitment questline in Legion. Events of Legion happend around year 32 after the opening of the portal, so 12 years after the Scourge invaded Quel’Thalas. https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Timeline#Legion
It is therefore logical to conclude, that all the Void Elves were born as High Elves before the third war. People like Umbric, who held high positions in Thalassian society before their exile simply had to spend most of their lives as High Elves. Either that, or You have to assume that Umbric was still a child, yet already a magister when we first met him in Legion.
The Silver Covenant does not need an embassy. It needs a prison cell. Or several.
Actually, considering that the Horde is getting ONE major lore character as one of the five major characters shown in the presentation, I don’t much want to see more alliance factions showing up in the belf city.
Its the Alliance High elves Ancient home aswell as the Blood elves.
Pretty sure it be like Dalaran, Horde has their side/Embassy and Allliance have their side/Embassy. And like the argent tournament. Horde have their side and Alliance theirs.
Prisen cell for the horde you mean, that murdered thousand of Night elf civilians.
Beside in war within the Silver covenant and Sunreavers were friends/allies protecting each other from the nerubians. The Sunreaver could easily killed the wounded/injured Silver covenant High elf but didn’t and the same when it was the other way around. So if they can come over it and “move on” then the rest of the Blood elves can too. And the Sunreaver and Silver covenant left together with Khadgar, Aethas Sunreaver and Jaina. Pretty sure they went to the newly build Dalaran that Kirin tor members have been building since Cataclysm. At Hillsbrad Foothills Dalaran crater. But we wont see the new Dalaran until they revamp those areas.
Yes they were High elves and Blood elves but Umbric and his followers did not partake in the faction war. They never fought either side so they have no connection with the Alliance. They were research team of new magic as there was many research teams doing that in Silvermoon. Umbric and his folllowers was among the survivors of Scourge attack. But before Kael’thas came back to Silvermoon the Sunwell was filled with the void and Umbric and his followers tried to use the void as the new Source of power for the High elves to help their people with the withdrawl of mana but they did so in secret. Then Kael’thas came and renamed them Blood elves and with Kael’thas they shut down the Sunwell so no more Demons could come through the Sunwell, so they could retake Silvermoon and Quel’thalas. Kael’thas left Lor’themar in charge while Kael’thas left to join the remnants of the Lordaeron Alliance. Umbric and his follower countinue researching the void in secret but they were later discovered by Grand Magister Rommath after Sunwell was ignited and Grand Magister Rommath banished them to protect the newly ignited Sunwell.
But Umbric and his followers have no history or connection with the Alliance as they never fought in the wars, they always in Silvermoon, always researching for new magic.
Auric sunschaser was cast out from Grand Magister Rommath when reforging the High elf sword cause Lor’themar fell back when touching the sword. Grand Magister Rommath thought it was a deliberate attack and exiled Auric and his rangers.
Vereesa is still High elf as we saw in Shadowlands when she was standing next Alleria. And if she is still High elf then the rest of the Silver covenant is still High elf and not merged with the Void elves. But it is a mystery that the Void elves have changed their armor apperance, even their tents have changed colors in the pictures. Unless they joined with the Silver covenant as they are way less then the Alliance High elves. But we see if Vereesa will be there with Umbric with her Silver covenant in Midnight.
They were just High elves that lived in Human cities and not belong to any of the Alliance High elf factions. Otherwise we would have seen Vereesa windrunner and Auric Sunschaser there in Telogrus Rift. Most was just Blood elves leaving Silvermoon knowing they be exiled for wanting to learn the Void. Also we have those 3 Blood elves that protested of joining the Horde from Silvermoon.
You people are acting like the Helfs are some big deal in the Alliance. They aren’t. And if there’s a place to build an embassy, it’s in Ogrimmar where the only ambasy exists. But there’s no need for an embassy because the Helfs are too unimportant to justify an embassy. They weren’t even mentioned in the Midnight presentation. This sounds to me like more Alliance crap to get a foot in Silvermoon’s door.
No they been part of the Alliance story for several expansions, so they are important for the Alliance and they are “not” gone. Blizzard devs just choosed to forget them.
Ofcourse the Alliance would have an Embassy. Same as in BFA the Kultirans made the Harbour masters office to the Alliance Embassy but that was becuase they ran out of time as the castle of Boralus was suppose to be the Alliance Embassy. Like the Horde got an Embassy in Zuldazar main Building/Castle. The Blood elves will turn one of their Buildings to a tempoary Embassy and same thing for the Horde. Where else would our Alliance leaders be during the 2 years of war with the Void.
2/3 will be shared between Alliance and Horde…would be alot of empty spaces otherwise.
No because Blizzard focus is the Blood elves, Void and Light and Void elves and Army of the Light. They could chosen to ignore them this time since Silver covenant was in War within like the Sunreaver but only briefly in War within and at the end. Vereesa and her kids had moved away from Dalaran before War within. And she was not in Stormwind. So they are still mentioning them. But maybe they more story in The Last Titan as that’s were we met Vereesa windrunner and the Silver Covenant the first time.
We shall see, its a almost a year before Midnight comes out.
Can You please provide the source for this? AFAIK, we have no information about his actions pre legion.
Can You please cite any source of that? All I know is that it was taintated, I’m not aware if Blizzard ever specified what kind of energy was tainting it, but since it was tainted by Death Knight ressurecting a Lich in a necromantic ritual, I’d say it’s more likely it was Death, not Void.
Umbric’s notes suggest that he wanted to use the Void to help with defense of Silvermoon, not addiction to magic. https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Umbric%27s_Notes_-_Sanctum_of_the_Moon
I’d really like to read more about Umbric’s past - can You share any source?
You sure it’s not cause you really want them to be? Cause to me it feels like Blizzard has been avoiding to bring the spotlight on the Helfs for a long time now. Cause that’s what it sounds to me. A bunch of helfer boys trying to make a big deal out of nothing. Maybe if they show Helfs maybe they’ll add them as a playable species DESPITE there being two identical species on both factions. That it? Does not matter. It’s just your desperate attempt to revitalize a long-dead horse.
Again, lemme venture a guess here. So you want a Helf embassy to open in SILVERMOON SPECIFICALLY, even if the Embassy is in Ogrimmar, so you can what? Claim the city when your Helfs become playable? That the plan? Very sneaky. But not really.
Oh no, imagine that. Just like in every other expansion. But I find it touching that you worry about empty space in a Horde city as an Allianceboi. But again, not really.
Oh so it was just an oversight that’s gonna be rectified for sure. You certain? Cause given Blizzard’s unwillingness to feature Helfs as a whole, I’d say the changes of that are nil. Caca.
And as usual, I’ll venture another guess. An educated one since you people always do this. When Midnight comes and Helfs are not to be seen, you’ll claim Blizzard SLAPPED you in the face. Like usual.
Man, enough with your damned Helfs. Just pick an elf from the existing roster and give us a break already.
Its part of their story. they are squad of nobodies. and Not all High elves and Blood Elves took part in the second or third war as High elves/Blood elves loved to research for new magic, Its why they got Exiled to eastern Kingdoms in the first place. They could not stop even if the Druids told the Highborne to stop as that would bring the legion back to azeroth. they promised they woulednt but did anyway and then got exiled to EK and in Quel’thalas they countinue research as it was in their Blood. Just look around Quel’thalas and ghostlands. Many Buidlings researching magic of different kinds. Same for those Highborne in Crystalsong forest tht ripped their souls out and they haunted that place for 1000s years.
Its in the story for Blood elves heritage armor. The Sunwell collapsed and was filling the Sunwell with Void and it was spreading ever since. Kael’thas and Grand magister Rommath was there and so was Lor’themar and Liandrin. Yes it was filled with death magic before but Blizzard changed the Lore so it fit in for the Void elves, giving that backstory why they began reseaching for the void and the story continues in the Nightborne recruitment quest were Grand magister Rommath says after Alleria touch the Sunwell and Void creatures started coming in. “This is why I demand Umbric and his radicals to be exiled, anyone of treats with the Void is a danger to the Sunwell”. And at the Void elf recruitment Umbric books that we went looking for in Ghostlands. And that’s the reason they started researching the void. When they got exiled Umbric found Dar’Khan Drathir books leading to secret realm of the void.
Then also in the recrutment quest what do you see…Blood elf mages…Blood elf warlocks. They are the original members of Umbric Squad. They were only researcher. Not Rangers, Not Warriors etc. They came later when they started recruiting.
Excatly as the Sunwell was filled with the Void. They could use it as their new source of magic but they got shunned by the other Blood elves for even thinking it, which was odd consider who High/Blood elves are. They just wanted to help their people as other Blood elves went out to research Blood magic (Blasted Lands), Necromancy (Scholomance) and even fel (Outland the fel crystals that Grand magister Rommath brought with him from Outland they started researching fel) to find a new source of power and Umbric and his follwers wanted to use the Void from the Sunwell as the new source but Kael’thas shut it down because it was too dangerous and later when Sunwell was reignited at the end of TBC at some point, Grand magister Rommath discovered their secret hideout and exiled them to protect the Sunwell.
So it was to give Umbric and his followers a story why they got so interested in the Void in the first place and continue to search for a way to continue to research the Void when being exiled, wandering the Ghostlands and found the books Dar’Khan Drathir had left behind so they could continue the work.
Ofcourse they be addicted to Void as they were same situation as the Alliance High elves, with out the Sunwell they were also having Mana withdrawl effects and they went out in Azeroth in search of new source of power to rebuild their empire. While Alliance high elves was sitting, waiting for a miracle. The Blood elves in Silvermon did not want to wait. The Sunwell was spewing Void magic and Umbric and his follower thought “why not use it”. Its part of the Highborne elves legacy, a new unknown magic is irresistible to them as it is to us humans encountering a Mystery. A Mystery must/need to be solved and learned. Its how they got in trouble in the first place with the Druids.
That’s the thing they never been mentioned anything about Umbric or his followers through out Warcraft lore until Legion and Blood elf Heritage armor quest Blizzard added Umbric story just a little. A few hints here and there. Alleria herself didn’t know they existed. She never met Umbric or heard about him and his followers before Legion and no wonder if they were just researchers as she is a Farstrider and that’s why he was not in the second war. Why Umbric and his followers not been seen since Silvermoon fell because they were in hiding as the other Blood elves did not agree to their research of the Void magic.
I quess we find out more about the Void elves in Midnight when we go to Xal’atath homeworld.
Such an Embassy already exists and it’s in Stormwind.
You could easily have playable High Elves create an Arcane Frost Portal between Shandaral and Stormwind.
Their is no need to have one in the Blood Elf city…which is just Blood Elf from left to right, start to finish, up and down…as it should be.
We don’t need Silvermoon for playable High Elves and I’m beyond relieved that Blizzard have remade Silvermoon in this way.
EDIT:
You could easily demand a Darkfallen Embassy in Silvermoon for the Horde…but I’m not betting the mortgage on it.
New allied races will always go to Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
