Dwarf. In other games I like them quite a lot, they tend to have a cool aesthetic and are tough and brawny. But in WoW, they don’t carry that dwarf energy well.
I feel like Dwarfs should be one of the coolest looking armored models in the game, but their proportions combined with their run animation give them Santa Claus vibes instead.
And the female dwarfs are just hideous, like half-man, half-woman.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, my ex girlfriend always said she looked like a female dwarf, at least body wise. Personally, I didn’t see it. She was like Hawaiian though, so she had that Moana type short and a little bit on the stocky side look, so I kind of understood it. But then she showed her dwarf character to her mom and her mom immediately started laughing at her saying it does just look like her.
So, in some ways unfortunately, I guess I do like female dwarves.
I have a soft spot for Goblins. They are a classic Azerothian race with long tradition of involvement in the story. But I am not fond of the steampunk theme and since I like using race-fitting mounts and transmog for every race I play, I’ll give them a pass.
For similar reason I never played a shaman, mail armor in general and shaman sets in particular are usually hideous and I always struggled to make up a transmog for them I would like. And If I can’t like the way a char looks like, I can’t enjoy playing it at all - just the way I’m wired.
Kul Tiran are the closest race we have to Vrykul. I love them, but making mogs work with that belly is a nightmare. Everything stretches and it just looks awkward. It’s okay-ish if we’re talking cloth armor, but plate just looks terrible on them. Chest pieces anyway.
Mechagnomes -
The “tech” part in WoW is cool and funny (when done tastefully), but I can’t get myself to play a “non-fantasy” looking race.
Orcs -
LOVE orc fantasy in WoW… but their tmog looks horrible from the belt and bellow… And their run animation makes me motion sick.
DI Dwarves -
Coolest dwarf race in game (maybe coolest race overall). But you can ONLY tmog red/fire themed mogs on them… Until Blizz makes the fire effect in their beards toggle-able, like the void elf hair tentacles, I won’t play DI unfortunately.
Main reason why is how Male Pandarens is holding 2 handed weapons in general. I mean I understand the whole “martial arts” and kung-fu aspect. But when you are wielding a big chonky 2 h sword with one hand, BEHIND YOUR BACK, it just looks wonky…
I do love Pandarens in general but, it just does not sit right with me
My main is a human paladin since 2011 february -unofically since 2010- and it will be no matter of what.
To be honest it’s hard to pick one race, because for me almost every alt has a little bit concept, backstory to it, and it’s shown in the chosen class, the loreplay transmog made for it, etc. It would be nice to play as an alliance high alf paladin, but unfortunately it will never happen.
Man I feel you, I have this problem with so many combat animations of every race! I get that spinning is cool to look at, but why do they have to expose their backs so often? Pandaren make totally 0 sense as they wouldn’t be able to parry anything quickly enough.
Or even dwarves that do that spinning attack which is slow and leaves their back totally exposed for a good while, like, they should be instantly dead. I don’t get blood elves idle 2h animation too but I guess that’s some sort of parry stance, although the crossed hands really seem stupid.
I swear these things make me mad, and I cannot unsee them.
Hahaha no its is right if i could swap my blood elf racials for human i would but blizz need to turn racials in to a perk system that we can use would open up all the other races
