You cannot play with me since you are Tauren anyway…
Why shoud I be toxic? because not agree with you? you didnt agee with me, yet i never smashed report button or call you toxic…this also apply to anyone else…

You don’t even understand the meaning of the word RPG. To clear it for you, it means Role-Playing-Game. What does this type of game means?
If we talk about single player RPG we talk about games like Neverwinter Nights, The Witcher series, The Mass Effect series, etc. These games contain 0 plus systems or other types of “artificial difficulty” and focus only on gameplay and story.
Now if we talk about MMORPG games, aka Massively-Multiplayer-Online-Role-Playing-Game, the classic ones that respect the so called “core concept” i specified before are games like: Runes of Magic, Guild Wars 1 and 2, Rift and so on. As a note, some of the games i gaved as example (Runes of Magic or Rift) are failed games due to bad management (especially monetisation issue), but we focus about gameplay and concept, not how failed they are.
What means “core concept” of a MMORPG?
The “core concept” means a game that focus only on gameplay and storyline and doesn’t focus on adding artificial difficulties, just to make the player spend more time in game. The best example that is to describe a good “core concept” game, was the Wrath of the Lich King expansion: it had 2 dungeon/raids difficulties (normal and HC), it focused heavy on story, it focused on players cooperation, it gaved the chance for majority of players to complete the content (especially raids), it gaved players a “sense of acomplishment” and the only “competition” between players was basically in PVP.
What is BFA now? It’s a version of WoW that increased it’s difficulty artificially, by adding repeating dungeons with artificially added difficulty (basically same dungeon, but with mobs/bosses with increased att, def, hp, stats), it’s a game that puts players on a endless grind ( AP grind) just to keep them subscribed, it’s a game with ridiculous requirements like “Phenomenal Cosmic Power” achievement or “10k daily quest” achievement and so on, it’s a game where you don’t have time to explore and “play” the story, because you need to focus on doing simulations on Ask Mr. Robot and focus on your rotation, it’s a game that is heavy reliant of RNG, especially in combat and not skill, it’s a game with countless issues and no fixes.
What will be Shadowlands? Same thing, but with different names. For example in BFA we grinded artifact power, in Shadowlands we will grind anima. Same ridiculous grind, same “alt unfriendly attitude” to force players to spend more time in game if they want to grow alts. Same ridiculous achievements like “Cosmic Power”, etc.
In my country we call that : “Aceeasi Marie cu alta palarie” which means: “Same Mary, but with different hat” (i hope you understand the metaphor).
This is not what people want from WoW. People want to have the choice. They don’t want their character progression to be enforced on them under a “grindwall”, where you need to spend hundreds of hours to achieve things in game. They want to enter in the game and have the choice to either farm some pet battle for example or do a quick HC run and after go on with their lives. They don’t want overwhelming repeated content and artificially induced difficulty, just to create the sense of new. This is not RPG game, this is a grind game.
I understand the necessity of grind in games, but the grind must be made in such a way so that players don’t feel that it’s like a second job enforced on them.

Corruption? o.O

You knew the outcome of this thread and you knew that there will be people against it. You knew that at one point this thread will “derail” and people will start to argue each other. So, instead to pretend yourself as a “victim” who was unaware of the consequences of opening this type of topic (everyone here on forum knows that Rio topic is a sensible and argumentative topic), why don’t you better think next time what types of topics to start on forum. Basically, you started the fire and now you cry because you want it extinguished.
I understand that you need to complete your daily quota of minim 100 comments on forum, but there are plenty of other “unharmful” topics you can open. Next time think what topics to start. A good suggestion for you is to “move” on pet battle forum section. Anyway that forum section is dead, so a “talkactive” person like you is needed to revive that section.
I think that you just wanted to add some drama on forum and that’s why you started this topic. Well…good job. You achieved your goal.

Because he doesn’t have a decent logical answer. These types of people, when they can’t answer to the discussed topic with arguments related to the topic, they derail and start accusing others of being toxic, rude or whatever, just to find a excuse and reason to prove their point.
Basically this is called “Cancel culture” where they try to “demonize” you, make you look as the bad guy and cancel you, reasoning their “imaginary” accusations (toxic, rude, etc). It’s a common style of denying the real reality and enforcing their reality upon others. It’s very hard to fight with them because usually they band together (even if some of their friend don’t agree, they join just to make part of the “flock”) and they try to burry you, remove you or even silence/ban you from the forum.

The outcome of this thread is people sharing their profiles and talking about their experiences. But some are just hell bent to hijack it.

If anyone still wants to join in they can get their profile from

This is not “highjacking”. This is called the freedom of opinion. You can’t come and start a topic about Rio and say : " okay, we discuss only what’s your Rio history, but we don’t criticize or talk bad about Rio" .
It doesn’t work like that and we both know that. Stop trying to “demonize” people just to fit your argument. It makes you look bad.
And again you started with the victimisation : " ohh i wanted people to share their Rio and talk about experiences and look people are bad, they highjack this thread" . Omg…grow up. Try to prove that you are a mature person.

It’s derailing a topic because you personally dislike an addon and website.

There is a whole existing topic for discussing Rio:-

This is for the reviews of BfA for fun.

Oh no!

Anyway…

Unfortunately I played hpally in S1 so I really struggled back there  In S2 I played prot warrior (my ever first class <3) and my friend healed me with his monk. In S3 I switched back to pally, but played all 3 specs (mostly retri). In S4 I mained mostly rsham, dpriest and occasionally prot pala. Though rsham is considered bad I managed to time all +20.

Now when I think of it, I did time them with pugs mostly. So rio isn’t as bad as it sounds ^^

You did so good!!! I love seeing that score go from sub 1k to nearly 3.5.

It’s mostly my buddy’s merit  I did all 15s and cba to push higher, but one friend couldn’t raid with me so the only way to play together was to push keys. I agreed and we both got 3,3k

Well, sadly let me remind you the meaning of the word forum : a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged .
If you want to discuss only “reviews of BFA for fun” and everyone to praise Rio, I suggest you to make a private blog or a separate site/forum and there you have the freedom to enforce whatever you want.
For the moment this is a Blizzard public forum, where everyone who has a active subscription (that means he is a customer of Blizzard) is entitled to “highjack” and say whatever opinion they have, as long their opinion is made in a diplomatic and mannered language. For the moment i didn’t broke any “diplomacy” rules, so I can and I am entitled to say whatever I want.
I know you don’t like it, but sadly this is the reality. I know that you enjoy enforcing others your “way”, but sadly you can’t.
As I said in my above suggestions, next time think before starting sensitive topics.
I hope this will clear everything and you will stop accusing me of “highjacking” YOUR THREAD or playing victim. Just don’t reply and with that you will admit your mistake of opening this type of topic.

I wouldnt ever dare to pug +20 as rsham, i need my group so i «know» what to expect  impressive :muscle:

For the first season I didn’t really have a regular team. Then a friend decided he’d form one and invited me to join. My friend quit WoW in 8.3 but the team is still going. I think only two of us are the original members now

It definitely helped my score having people to play with regularly.

We had a rough start to Season 4 with no healer, having to use pugs was very hit and miss.

The social aspect of the game was destroyed by this “PUG” feature and Rio added more drama to it. Instead for Blizz to focus in creating a community that “fights” for a purpose, they created a community that “fights” between themselves, by competing on who does more dps on a AI. That’s sad…no wonder the “new classic” launch was such a huge success.

Then i guess its been dead since vanilla since ppl pugged back then aswell :woman_shrugging:t3:

You have to have great patience forming pug groups in that bracket and up.

I like the safety of our group, if things go wrong we are more likely to laugh about it than get upset. We know none of us is going to rage or quit because we didn’t make the timer at any point

Having a steady group makes it alot more fun imo, and also you get to know the group and play around the strengths and weaknesses

Rsham kinda is kinda designed for pugs cause he has tools to counter some stuff pugs miss like interupts - I can interupt on my own and I can purge some buffs (Shrine shields, Underrot’s immune to death etc.), got aoe stun, nice single/cleave damage, SLT… I’m moving on resto druid in SL I will miss offensive dispel and interupt  I hope I won’t return to shammy

I tried to be a part of team 3 times and it always resulted in bad drama. I just play with one buddy at the time and others are “extras”, don’t want any pressure from this game on me xD

It’s weird but… it’s easier to me to play with pugs on high level. If I mess up, pugs will hate me but I won’t meet them again probably, while if I mess up run with guildies I will feel bad for letting them down. Once I did fail on the start of UR+21 when they told they cc maggot and I automaticaly put flame shock resulting in breaking cc and messing pull (they pulled next pack instead). I was ashamed :frowning:

I feel more pressure in Pugs, you never know if they are going to explode but we all are all different and do what works bets for us  . Had to get a dps in one week and we had the nicest guy on a warrior. Did fab job, interrupted what we told him do, did tacts well etc. Was a pleasure. Yet another time we had a particularly bad run in a dungeon and the guy just upped and left as we got to the last boss.

Yeah we have some nice tools, i agree on that. I just prefer knowing what to expect
