What? You actually think randoms care about your performance?
Most people here are nobody’s that write on forums.
I honestly think people are blaming the wrong thing when it comes to raider io. It is people that misuse it. The site is just data. Not really a whole lot different to our armory page.
As for the review, it’s just fun to see your stats, who you played with, what you did. etc. No one has to look at theirs or even share them. I just really liked it and thought others might too.
SO why does everyone use it?
Blizzard should ban all addons, except UI/font/template ones.
Any kind of “external” information should also be banned.
People use it because blizzard don’t give us a tool to know this stuff
In a pug enviroment we need a deterministic ability to know another players experience. That’s just how it is.
People like to hate on RIO because of exactly that, but tbh its a good add-on and I’ve definitely timed more keys during my time using it against my time being against it.
It’s nothing to do with segregation. It’s to do with the fact players will try jump into stuff with 0 experience and fail your keys without second thought. If we didn’t have RIO the quantity of key failing would be unreal.
And people would start using their own ideas of how to judge people’s capability. Which would lead down a road of no standard way of measurement. But just tons of people grading you on different systems.
If they remove Rio everyone would just be lookin you up on armoury
Some think Blizzard are making an equivalent, but I honestly don’t remember them saying that but I could easily have missed it.
An interesting function. For personal reference that is.
But I am still oldschool enough that I find it distasteful to share my info on social media with the bait of some giveaway.
Agreed. rIO is armory with flashy colors that express your experience.
Convenient when you’re in-game; instead of checking armory players can see what’s the high difficulty someone has done for an specific key.
I think you thread was made with good intentions, just to have fun and talk about our Bfa journey, but you know… even talking about progression can be taken as ‘toxic’ nowadays.
The beta key giveaway is optional to enter, I thought I might as well mention it in case people wanted to try.
Over 1000 boss kills in total, less than 100 m+ runs in all of BfA. Sounds about right. Any more playing than that would drive me insane considering how dry the content has been this expansion.
This is exactly the same 4head logic in real life.
You want a job? get experience.
But I can’t get experience if you don’t get me a job.
The elitism and sheer toxicity of the game is disgusting.
Id go as far to auto permaban anyone who used addons.
It’s not inappropriate at all. Whats inappropriate is people like you who preach tolerance and stuff like that… except when you disagree, then its every underhanded and deceitful tactic in the book to try to get your way.
This is the perfect example, just trying to bury or silence people that disagree with you. Such a hyopcrite.
No, that’s only an issue if you’re trying to enter a 10 key etc.
“get experience” means go into a lowerkey.
Only a few dunderheads are asking for obscene rio at lowerkey levels. I don’t even have RIO installed (though I do track my key runs since getting back into M+ veeeery late) and i’ve noticed that on this char, since adopting a “slow and steady, climb the levels” approach i’ve very very rarely been declined entry into keys, whereas on my other chars I was trying to jump up in big leaps due to my ilevel.
Experience is gradual. I use community atm to help me get the 15s but in terms of experience i’m not there with them yet so without that fallback i’m pugging 8-9 atms before I head into 10s. Makes sense.
Rio is one of the most, now lets be honest, THE most hated third party site, it says a lot that Blizzard gives them 200 keys to give away.
Also, I’d link mine but it displays my account name there and thats close to my email address and so on. If they want people to share this they should call it
“Profile of my most used character” not “Profile of my account name thats close to my email address”
Its only hated by people that are either bad at the game or doesnt want to spend time improving.
RaiderIO is completely fine and a good way to look over peoples abilities/Exp
Damn 12 whole raid bosses.
I did great this expansion!
But anyone can get experience in M plus.
- Go to any M0 or +2 key listed in group finder, to get your own key
- List in group finder, run your key
- Either you time it or you don’t
- List again
- Rinse repeat
Every run that you do adds score and gives you experience. After you build up some base score it will start to award more score for keys higher than the ones you’ve run. The problem is that people just want to bypass the system and jump straight into higher keys. They think that when they are applying to groups and people look at raider io that is what is getting them rejected, rather than thinking that they are in a queue with many other players and the leader wants their key to be a success and will pick the best matches as they see fit. You can not be excluded from your own key.
If you struggle to do keys there are friendly communities to get a bit of experience. Guilds are another source of players, as are your friends.
It is as unreasonable to expect to be invited to a +15 with no experience as it is to be expected for mythic raids to invite you with no experience of any raids.
Did you link your bnet so that it picks up your alts?
