Solo Shuffle is fast food of WoW arenas. We asked for solo queue and got this. If somehow Blizzard decides to remove 2s and 3s and leaves solo shuffle as the only bracket I’ll never play retail again. It just sucks.
WoW was never balanced but as long as specs were fun and overall gameplay was fun (MoP as a good example) then people enjoyed it. I feel it’s also the case of how people changed. In the past they were more into trying underdog specs work. Nowadays everyone watches Supatease, Venruki, Skill-Capped tier lists and just hop of spec because of 5% damage change. Also AWC is less about specializing in class spec because all these rank 1 players played literally everything over the years and as we know average WoW player is a sweaty tryhard rerolling at least 5 times during the season.
I played WoW over the years and what I think WoW arena lost is the importance of utility spells. It’s because of class design but also the amount of weak auras everyone has. In Cata for example that I play now rotations are in most cases very simple but because of it you have more time for spells like Groudning Totem and countering it. Also Grounding Totem is way less toxic. It only blocks one spell so you only need to to press and instant spell (Moonfire for example) and you can cast what you wanted. On retail you cannot waste even 1 global and everything is about doing your rotation. Also every spell does something. There aren’t spells like Lightning Bolt in the past or on current Farseer that unless you casted Stormkeeper there is no reason to ever press it because it literally does nothing. That’s how most of the specs are designed because of M+.

3s is dead af (almost 2 min queues at 1,9 mmr), and balancing has rarely been this bad. Only hope for this season was that it looked like they were getting rid of ele shamans with the rework, but nope that’s back again and just as toxic and boring as usual after 3-4 rounds of buffs.
1/10 only season ive taken a break because my 2 specs are unplayable ill take being forced to torghast horrific vision and warfront as long as my specs feels fun and playable.
Not really has nothing to do with class balance. You have more specs viable than usual due to everything being extremely similar and generic. PvP is designed around shuffle with extremely low skill floor to the point where you only need to learn dps rotation.
Also pvp is ghost town dead due to boring gameplay and the only option to play the game is to sit through 40m queue just to play trash rounds of brainless pve parse.

Yet again have to fact check you since it is apparently too hard 4 you to gather information. Arcane is doing exceptionally well in SS, even better than frost overall. Fire is def not unplayable as well.
How long does it take for mage players to realize that you cannot simply combine the two words “unplayable” and “mage”. No matter the season or expansion.
TWW is literally patch notes for DF. It is criminal they charged 50 euro for this trash. And to my understanding this garb expansion is split into 3 different patch notes all charged 50 euro each. It sounds almost unbelievable to me.
I heard I’m denominator but only two people gave more than 2. There is no surprise that the main content of these people is solo shuffle.
I also understand why average Elemental Shaman player likes the rework. You don’t need to do much to kill someone and you feel extremely powerful. Once you play a little longer you don’t enjoy such things too much. I had pleasure of playing WoD Enha it’s fun for few weeks but then it’s just unfair. Just look at that Saturday AWC game between Welcome to the Jung and Tiger Toads. Kubzy - one of the best Arcane Mages died in a Wind Shear to Feral Ele. Due to how stupid the new Ascendance is - buffing not only Overloads damage but makes it proc twice. It makes DRE 2x more toxic than it was even in Dragonflight and Shadowlands. All it did in the past was cast 1 bigger Lava Burst towards enemy with Flame Shock. Now it can proc 1+ 2 Overloads usually because Ascendance works different. As I said in season 1 I had games where people died in the opener. Once I killed H Priest with Guardian Spirit in 2 Cheap Shots through proc. I have other examples as well:

Literally I pressed Earth Shock twice within a sec and guy died from 50%. I was not going for the kill that moment. Just dumped some Maelstrom. Is it a healthy design? It’s an abomination.
I always pointed stupid and unreasonable things like Sepsis one shots and many more. I’d feel biased and unfair if I defended this. I call my own main spec for being completely stupid. It’s not the first time I quit because of it. I feel that 3rd and 4th season SL Ele was the same. Just press Lava Burst and pray to RNGsus for DRE procs. Guess what I also didn’t play it. Current Ele reminds me old Wind Fury one shots. You could literally delete someone randomely and do nothing because Overloads didn’t proc enough. I’d maybe even consider rerolling Enha but this spec doesn’t give me any fun since Legion rework. It’s also rather a gimmick rather than real spec.
The sad truth is that devs don’t care about PvP and never even think about it doing a class/spec redesign. Good example is merging Healing Tide with Mana Tide Totem. We are being served specs designed over aoe damage for M+. While in raids it doesn’t matter because your aoe procs don’t break CC on boss it makes Blizzard go for such stupid ideas like CC not breaking on aoe.
Speaking of CC. There is way too much crap that stops you for playing the game for 1 to 3 secs. All little blinds that break on damage and crap like this instead of old long casted CC. In the past it was worth to risk some of your HP to land a gamebreaking ship. Nowadays you play passive behind and eventually extend some CC of your meele. Mages instead of pushing for Sheeps rather utilize Ice Walls. It also killed any castercleaves. Even Shadowplay is gone. Because of this change balance will be also worse. There will be always few specs that are performing superior damgage wise because they cannot cover it with other aspects. Same goes for healers. In the past you were looking on DRs and utility you lack now just pick the healer with the best throughput and you are good.
I also mentioned that some base buttons are not worth pressing unless you use all the modifiers. There is no Ele (unless Stormbringer) who pressed Lightning Bolt without Stormkeeper in Arena for last 4 expansions and there are more examples of such spells on other specs. I just give Shaman examples because I mostly played it.
So my verdict is. Unless you enjoy waiting for 40 min. in solo shuffle the game is in it’s worst state it ever was. DF was like a small light in the tunnel. I hoped it’s going the right direction but as always 1 step forward 2 steps backwards. I’m waiting for MoP now as it was my most fun in WoW I’ve ever had. If you didn’t try it before go for it I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed. If you did and don’t want to go the past probably just buy a bottle of whisky as it’s hard to play these shuffles sober.
seems like some people choose collective adaptation against one who is not align with their social norms, even wen the topic is clearly about personal preference. even wen one clearly states their day to day activity, some people are still blind and choose to believe whatever they want to believe. some people are just silly

You took what I wrote as a personal attack and lashed out in a competely toxic way, and on a person who has by far and large been agreeing to most of what you posted for the past couple of years and has been nothing but friendly to you. I said you were a common denominator in picking a fight with other shaman players who dared say they prefer ele rework, not other posters in this thread commenting the state if the game.
Also I never said you thought pre rework ele lava burst spam was healthy, but simply pointed out that you not liking ele after rework is not a shared sentiment. You literally twisted what I said as an excuse to lash out.
You now doubled down on your “I know better than all of you attitude” and I wonder did you even play ele since last tuning because overloads have been nerfed by 60% in pvp specifically to reduce the rng impact and Stormkeeper is 100% worth casting.
You were dooming and glooming since day 1 about ele rework, and the spec ended being the best caster in season 1. You will probably say again that I am “putting words in your mouth”, and I CBA bringing receipts rn.

At the end I was right. Ele was RNG crap with everything built about Ascendance and DRE are still toxic and stupid. And regarding Stormkeeper I’m not going to comment on it. You struggle with understanding what you read. I said about Lightning bolt WITHOUT STORMKEEPER but it seems it’s too hard too understand. Maybe that’s where your false spread information comes from.
Also you don’t play arenas per say but solo shuffle so I understand why you enjoy the spec where you braindead hope for procs to one shot someone. You don’t opt for coordinated play and communicated goes. Spec is “completely fine”:
