Unfortunately I have a memory problem and although I remembered the guy in Iskaara told me to go somewhere, I’d forgotten where by the end of his sentence. And it wasn’t reproduced in chat so I had no idea what expansion I should be going to, let alone the actual place. So I had to go to Wowhead though it’s something I really didn’t want to do otherwise I couldn’t have finished it. They need to put important stuff like that in chat.
Anyone is able to make a groyp for their key, and use their key, its more difficult for some speccs to get into pug groyps yes. But blaming a game for the what the player does, is a weird stance.
They havent given up on WoW lol. And moneitization?. Didnt the trading post just basically annoy every paying player off with handing what they paid RL money for out completely free to the masses
I have a feeling its going to be fun little side quest each day, just going back to old expansions and wandering round is a nice way to spend some time.
Plus I get an alpaca at the end!
(thank goodness it isnt a super hard puzzle needing Discord to solve everything. Could you imagine the state of the forums if it took a week or more to solve 1 puzzle!!!?LOL).
The tooltip on the spear item had the hint on it (“Hero of the west” or something), it’s an easily overlooked place to put the hint, but it was still there (Also, Northrend is the only place with sizeable Tuskarr settlements, part of it is lore knowledge), i hope that helps you for tomorrow’s mystery.
Using that information, i went around Tuskarr settlements in the west of Northrend, the NPCs were easy to find once i got close, due to the crowd of other people.
This event works like a puzzle game. Finding the secret is part of the fun, and, like in a puzzle game, if you “solve” the puzzle by following a guide in which another player explains to you the solution, then the fun goes away. The satisfaction is in finding the solution yourself.
That is why reading in Wowhead what to do and repeating it feels dull as if you were cheating, which, in reality, is what you are doing. Unfortunately, in this game, it has been normalized to cheat the solution of everything on guides instead of playing the game to find the solution.
And that is a big problem for things like this event because once you learn the solution, you can not unlearn it. Maybe after some time, you forget and can act as if you don’t know what to do, but this gaming content can’t ever be replayed as the first time when you didn’t know what to do.
in fact it is a content
Like i understand that your perception of world of warcraft is skewed
by people that are promoting M+ /raiding/pvp but that’s not what this game is all about
You don’t need to get high end gear to feel that there is a content in this game
sometimes just doing random collecting and midnight pet battles on timeless isle is a great piece of content
Just get out of your bubble and it’s gonna be OK
And that reinforces my point. WOW players have normalized so much to reading guides even before the content has been available that the only way to create a secret for a player who will read a guide 5 seconds after being created is to make ultra-hard secrets like this. So at least the secret would me meaningful but the few players who take part in the process of finding it, even if the majority of players will just follow the guide.
I know. But probably, many players will still read the guides without even trying to solve it, and if they do that, they will feel like the OP. The secret content is disappointing because solving a puzzle using a guide is boring and dull. But when that happens, it is the player’s fault. Not the puzzle. No one could have a gotcha moment following a guide.
It is the first day of a 15-day event. What did you expect? It should start as something easy and increase in difficulty every day. But that doesn’t matter if players follow a guide, because reading the solution on a guide is dull no matter the complication of the puzzle.
ah well…there will always be people who complain because something isnt hard enough/too hard, takes too long/not long enough, or even that the content is plain ‘bad’ (based on their personal preference alone).
I think the majority of people though are loving this new direction from Blizzard of giving us multiple little mini events sprinkled throughout the major content drops.
But many times WoW secrets are impossible to solo without guides? Remember there was this secret mount you unlocked by finding 12 pebbles all around the game world - imgaine trying to solo it.
What you should be able to do without needing other 12 pebbles is to find my answer to that exact point. I give you a clue: read all the messages backward since yours and you will find my answer. I am so good at solving secrets that I answered your question before you made it.
