This week was season 3 rewards for last week. You will find on reset that your chest wont have cloaks in it.

Pretty much the gist of it. If they’d removed cloaks you’d get all the “ waah waah, I shouldn’t be forced to do this horrible legendary cloak crap! ” posts. Blizzard can’t really win here no matter what they do.

…not to mention the Transmog crowd.

I was actually thinking, how important is that cloak for M+ and Raiding content? Is it mandatory? If I love M+ on an alt, can I just skip it? Or what use is it? If it is non mandatory for all content, I guess maybe cloaks should still drop.

If you care about the strength of your character, which you should if you run M+, you should get the cloak because it’s an extremely high iLevel item so has a huge stat budget.

It is. From what i see so far , everything is being balanced around corruption. You need good corrupted gear procs and only way to endure the corruption is lvling up the cloak ( there is an essence too but you need to be actively participating new content to get that essence which mean you will get cloak automatically) and that is only for m+. It’s pretty much mandatory for the raid.

Out of 4 M+ runs I did other day, cloak was a drop in 3 of them. It was funny 1st time around, but if same player got 2nd cloak just run after, I can say he was not laughing. We, the others were, but I was able to hear how the poor guys voice dropped off and started to sound clearly disappointed.

It’s hella strong for m+ simply because it has high ilvl and thus far higher stats. For raiding, it’s practically mandatory. You can’t do last two bosses without the cloak at all. If you don’t have it equipped when the boss is pulled, you get mc’d and since you get mc’d at the pull, you don’t actually tag the boss and thus don’t get any rewards from it.
