Nothing wrong with scaling…

First time I was introduced to scaling was on a weekend holiday in Riga several years ago. And then when I visited Thailand last year. Next day I had to buy me bigger pants. Scaled really well I promise you, and I felt happy about it too!

Dumbest argument ever. Do you blame every new raid tier for releasing an harder raid ?

Harder content = better rewards, that’s what should be the very core concept of a rpg

This isn’t even a scaling issue : their base stats are taillored for 385 ilvl. Mobs are harder because you get 385 to 425 Gear from them.

Most DPS classes around 415 should be able to pull 30 - 50k DPS burst DPS on 2-3 targets using cooldowns. Killing that in 10 seconds is perfectly feasible especially as Ret.

This is without bodyguards, PvP talents and Essences taken into consideration btw, which typically offer significant DPS gains.

From what I’ve seen, most Nazjatar elites are just fat damage sponges that offer 0 threat to the player because they hit like wet noodles. If anybody has problems with killing elites it’s their own problem and not scaling. And I bloody hate they idea of world scaling.

I died three times so what I did was log out and go play something else. I’m dreadful at this game, but I did try I have to say. The last couple of brutes that I tackled didn’t even need to make a fight of it. I was dead almost instantly. That is when I realised this game has become way way too hard for me. I am just not worthy. Never mind I have something else I can play that is easier and a little more fun.

By the way if scaling works why wasn’t the mob as crap as I was. Seems a little onesided.

Now that’s just pure psychos. I litteral roadroll them.

btw why are y’all asking for the game to be harder to complain about it after ?

Elites are typically not balanced around being soloed, especially not rare elites. This can be offset by gear and certain specs, but the core idea still remains.

I doubt the new zones that came out in 8.2 are balanced for players below 360 ilvl

So why when you log in after a long break does the game offer a quest with no guide as to whether you can do the place or not. Or is the game unable to check a specific players gear level before offering content that is obviously impossible to complete. Dungeons can do that. You cannot abandon these things I have tried. So I just did what I was asked. Maybe there could be a guide at the entrance to these places warning of the perils of not being geared for the zone.

Like I say, I thought scaling worked both ways. Obviously not. This quest filled my screen when I logged in today for the first time in an age. It was pretty clear in what it was asking. I even struggled to get the weapon, which in truth was all I did the run for to get a foothold in the zone so I could maybe start levelling. But didn’t work. I was dead in seconds. Like I say never mind.

No worries.

Does it actually ā€œscaleā€? I’m pretty sure mobs are pretty much the same on my main and alt, despite significant ilvl difference. 'Course, this does mean it’s pretty dangerous for undergeared character, but then again, this is day one. We still have ā€œbadā€ gear, weak essences, untrained bodyguards. All of that will become easier in just few more days and then even more so once season 3 launches.

If it worked both ways in that sense, what would be the point of playing the game? Anyways, it takes like 2 or 3 hours to get to 370, by then you can do the zones and gear up with the 385 upgradable gear in Nazjatar

Well, the HP scales, but so does your DPS, except it scales far more than the mob HP. Mob damage is always constant, which means that people with appropriate gear (~370) will have a moderate challenge and raiders will stomp everything into the ground as usual.

Scaling has never worked for undergeared people. The whole purpose of the system is to prevent raiders from 1shotting mobs, thus preventing others from even being able to tag them.

You should expect to be struggling with things, considering you are basically in pre-heroic dungeon gear attempting to do content that rewards ilvl 385 items. This is progression working as intended.

Scaling is THEFT from the player. It negates my earned gains in lvl/ilvl.

What is the point in getting better gear if it doesn’t make me stronger?

If you read this thread you would see that gear does make you stronger, just no godly strong.

It is a bug which pops up from time to time. Obviously I can see the preview to the right when I write the posting.

However, this has still nothing to do with the argument and is a rather weak counter to your behavior towards other players.

I’m sure that’s exactly what they had in mind ever since classic when you had to drink after every god damn fight! Such monsters those blizzard guys not letting people kill NPCs by just looking at them!!

but I do however 100% agree that scaling shouldn’t exist

So don’t keep ramming the annoying quest at log-in in the face of players that can’t do the zone cus they are not geared. The game will not let you play certain dungeons due to gear restrictions and so it does have a measure of your gear item level. It really isn’t hard to trigger an event based on your gear level. I haven’t played this character for like months and months and so I resub to see what is going on and I get this request and I just follow the onscreen prompts. At no time did it say anything.

I then get on the boat and go to this place and start killing mobs at item my level 333. I didn’t have any problems. I was killing that first mini boss woman for the staff and I only died cus I was tagged from behind by another mob and I tried to deal with it. I did eventually kill that woman thing and got the staff.

I was having no issues with trash mobs. I fell thro the earth which hasn’t happened since I first played TBC which is a game bug and dropped me into a subzone that meant I needed to unstuck.

I then proceed as asked by the two guys in the cave and I kill and assist stuff along the way but then hit a brick wall with two mobs that kill me instantly. At that point I realised the zone is too high for me. I’m not like stupid and I appreciate level requirements. I had hoped the staff would give me the leg-up and so I could play the zone… Like at the beginning of WoD and Legion. I thought the game appreciated the issue and gave me an assist. It didn’t it was a suicide mission. Well a big thanks for that.

So I just ported to Undercity and gave up. No point being there. In truth it wasn’t very interesting anyway. Scaling is why I don’t play the game. I only resubbed to see if the new content was interesting. I think I got my answer.

Days gone by the mobs had colours that distinguished their strengths. But now sadly everything is a mirror of your character so how are you supposed to distinguish higher scale 120’s. Maybe they could put a flashing beacon on their heads and one of those mechs that say ’ Warning Warning '. That would help. Like I say, all I did was what the game asked me to do. ’ Not my fault '.

No matter. I went back to what I was playing before. Much simpler. Not worthy for Warcraft I know when I’m beat. Onwards.

The question is: does the old content still scale with new gear?

and he said that he did that as a tank not a dps.
as dps is reasonble with cooldown but as a tank no
