Yeah, arms and prot should be removed, fury is the only warrior spec that should matter.
Have to agree. I have a bunch of âmust pickâ talents and several âwhy would you use this?â talents.
If 2 of 3 donât work nearly as well as the 3rd, itâs not a choice.
Give me choices that affect how I play, e.g (just off the top of my head, not refined):
- halves the cooldown of your stun
- halves the cooldown of your speed burst
- halves the cooldown of your self-heal
Now I choose; do I want to be offensive, defensive, or evasive? Maybe I run the Maw with footspeed, but I PvP with a better stun, and I tank with improved survivability. A situation for each one.
All talents should be equally good or at least similar, and their whole meaning should be to determine your style of play. So in an ideal situation we should choose which style suits us best and not what is better. I think that would be a real deal. We have such a choice in some lines, but it is very rare. Also a lot of talent should be baseline, a typical example is WDP for ww. Even a lot of legendary effects should be baseline or at least talents, a typical example is the Absolute Zero legendary for fdk. Frostwyrmâs Fury is totally useless without this effect, and instead of that effect being a baseline or at least a talent they put it into a legendary effect. We also have some pretty interesting effects with conduits, and some of them could also be talents or baseline. But as usual Blizz makes the same mistakes and because of that in recent years we have only the illusion of a choice and nothing more.
There was a BiS, was mostly point out the differences between the talents on the row. as mentioned by others, it being all movement related before whilst now itâs 3 different types.
Meh, it depends on the spec and class really, on my lock I still have my mobility row, my cc row, my aoe row etc.
No, we need MORE talents so its harder to tell which is the best.
please dont give them ideas.
Uhh⌠no?
Iâd like to be able to have actually different buildsâŚ
like RPGs haveâŚ
ya know⌠this game, an RPG
even MOBAs have different builds.
One thing I love about classic is the talent trees and messing with different builds, even just for leveling. I love leveling alts and Iâll eventually hit the alt cap in classic like I did in retail. So I think âremoving talentsâ in general is a bad idea. I wish we had more talents to choose from.
I agree with you it makes no sense.
What I would do is make PVP gearing/talents completely different from PVE. Then balance the abilities around itâs own meta.
Then I would redesign the talent tree to include more stuff baseline, and add new stuff, and I would carefuly make sure that DPS increase options are of same value and affect only playstyle. Blizzard continuously fails in this area, making certain talent choices completely meaningless.
Thirdly, I would make more DPS baseline, and make talents much more utility choices. That would make playstyles much more interesting.
Borrowed power is and always has been terrible for class design.
Legions âtalentsâ (artifact weapons) if you really want to call them that just show how creative class designers could get but instead opt for the lazy approach through borrowed power.
In regards to other MMOâs combat and class systems Iâd actually say WoWâs is one of the weakestâŚby a long shot.
Classes arenât unique in the slightest form. Every class is near enough blended to suit this one size fits all approach which I think greatly diminishes any class identity.
Imho and Iâm willingly getting my head bitten off by all the class fanatics hereâŚbut every class needs a complete deep revamp where we take a look at what players want for the core experience and expand upon that.
Instead of chipping away at a bit here or there and band aiding classes with borrowed power or this complete lie of talents that have painful rows or what should be built in passives, hit the core and work up the foundations.
But hey ho this will likely never happen.
Thankfully I still manage to find fun in this game through Survival Hunters
RPGs in alot of cases are single player, this means u donât have to care about others opinions. As Ur not based on their judgement.
Because in PvP builds are built to directly counter a opposition. Which changes up.
The raid or m+ enviroment never changes so the build never changes either.
Every mmorpg will have a BiS route. Your welcome to ignore it however.
It feels like Blizzard treats talents more like an opportunity to add the missing piece to your class rather than having them be an extension of your preferred playstyle.
Talents shouldnât be removed, but they should definitely rethink what goes into the talents trees, like if 1 talent is picked 99.99% of the time then just make it a baseline spell because it obviously is very necessary for the spec to work.
Talents should feel like QoL additions to the base class, not abilities you pick up to patch the class to a playable state.
But you donât. Just look at the website, for nearly all rows, itâs above 90% for the same talent.
You love the feeling of being tricked into thinking you have a choice.
The illusion of choice always exists when you are looking for meta builds, same goes for Starcraft as well, either build this and that unit at the exact times or youâll be disadvantaged.
Talent trees got removed with the launch of MoP. The current system affords little to no customization and is not fun in the slightest.
