Reopening the Mage Tower with Legion Timewalking in 9.1.5

For you that might be true. For MANY MANY MANY others it’s definitely fun.

Blizzard is making a mistake. They said they’re listening… Well, this is their chance…
Add new skin variations of the weapons. That way the original skins stay exclusive.
It’s a win-win. Do the right thing!

Good thing the T20 recolors were the awards. Would have been pretty diminishing to have your unique award that was advertised as limited, just brought back to the public.

Just repeating some dumb words doesn’t make it true.
Having recolors of the weapon skins wouldn’t diminish ANYTHING.

As far as I’ve seen, recolors of the weapon skin wasn’t what people were advocating for.

Many people in this thread ARE.
And it would be the perfect solution for most. It would keep both ‘sides’ happy.
Of course, there will always be people who won’t be happy. But overal I think it would be the best solution.

What blizzard put out was the best solution. The tower appearances were a time limited award to the whopping 17 months that the mage tower was in legion (7.2 > 8.0). If you missed out during those months, too bad. There are elite pvp sets, old raid mounts and event mounts/appearances that I’d like to have but am completely fine with not being obtainable anymore. If wow was a singleplayer game, I’d be supportive of having the appearances re-released, recolored or not. But since wow is an MMO, I like to see people who have achieved unique rewards like Scarab Lord, Elite PvP from a prev exp or like in this case, the mage tower appearances.

I’d feel betrayed as a feral druid right now

No it REALLY wasn’t. Many of the replies in this thread are proof of that. People are upset and rightly so.

Let’s apply that same mindset in reverse: Oh your ‘exclusive’ appearance gets added again? Too bad.

Yeah great for you.
I think removing ANY content and rewards is stupid.

Selfish. Extremely selfish.

You say that, but yet you want to take away the accomplishment from other players just for personal gain.

No I don’t.
I want to get NEW ALTERNATIVE appearances.

Leaving the originals as they are.

Mage tower without the weapon skins as rewards - what is even the point? This is NOT what people wanted when they said they wanted the mage tower back.

And blizzard delivered, the T20 are new alternative appearances.

Oh get lost.
You know very well what I mean… Besides, they’re ‘breaking their own rules’ with that insulting bear skin. Appeasing 1 single spec in the game with an alternative appearance and leaving the rest to rot… Horrible decision.

They very well told you why they brought back the bear skin.

Comparing an alternate bear form with new animations and body structure to a weapon reskin is not a good one.

Only exception would be the prot weapon, since it has physics.

Yeah and it’s a dumb reason.
They should make alternative skins for all the weapon appearances; EQUALITY.
That’s what they want to be about as a company, right? Well, let them set a good example then!

By diminishing the work of others? Yeah, bring it on blizz!

Because that never ever happened in the game before…

marks irony

Only reason I would’ve gone to Mage Tower would’ve been the blue feral form for druid cat and maybe the blue tint for balance weapon.

Me neither. Their designs aren’t really appealing to me. Might be a bit too “manly action style” again idk. Nothing I’d transmog really.

This so much. I think the level of exclusiveness ingame reaches a point where it really gets a questionable signal to players not meeting certain engagement metrics… And it is also dividing the playerbase because now we have a situation where people have earned unique transmogs / form tints because they were actually playing Mage Tower during the Legion expac being live and those, who eventually only learned about the Mage Tower or couldn’t play it back then due to e.g. lack of time / funds for gaming / health conditions / rl tragedies and duties or whatever. Isn’t fair at all imo.

That entire bs with mounts not being available anymore after an expansion has run its course. Rep factions getting removed (#Shen’dralar) and those who found the time to get exalted being granted with a unique title while those who didn’t manage can always remember how they grinded hard for revered but came too late to the party as in haven’t played WoW for a while and missed the news, so their effort was for nothing because of real life reasons.

Why remove such game content at all just to bring bits of it back for a limited time in less interesting form with less appealing rewards?.. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to Legion Timewalking. But this has been something that’s been bothering me for quite a while. Taking longer game pauses for some of us is inevitable if real life calls. Punishing players for not having been around for a while and learning about game content a bit later, which seriously even happens to newcomers given the sheer complexity of WoW’s game content, is quite the elitist move sending across message “better play WoW all the time or you’ll end up missing goodies”. Not cool.

Damage control mode is frikking awesome…

Imagine if 9.0 had launched with all the goodies we’re getting now!

It was said that those will be limited time rewards . What has been said must be fulfilled !
Simple as that.

Shall we count incidents where Blizzard did as much as even promise something and then did exactly the opposite?
