Reporting boosting sites

i can give one tip to hinder boosts… loot becomes non tradeable. there problem solved. in many many cases ppl buy boost to get gear… if u make all loot soulbound. boost will be less around :D. np blizzard for a very simple solution. yea u got my creditcard number already its time to give something back

Yeah this is what i was trying to say earlier here. Somehow it seems to be fine that some shady gang sells stuff for real money in shady website, but if Blizzard would put same things in the in game cash shop hell would break loose. :exploding_head:

It’ll hit a point where they do the same as they did with the gold sellers and work out a way to ensure they are making the money some are willing to pay rather than others making it. Controversial, but if they removed the wow token option I do wonder how many boost sellers (for cash) would still be around.

I am going to presume their legal department/legal representation knows what it is doing. When they say they can’t shut down a third party site offering these services because it is not against the law, I just tend to believe them.

I am not a solicitor (lawyer) and have no legal knowledge on websites

It’s dodging the issue though. As long as the sites aren’t violating IP rights etc then there isn’t much they can do about the sites themselves. They can however remove the accounts promoting these sites in-game and indeed entire guilds set up for seemingly that sole purpose. Unless of course there’s a planned wave of hitting these as they do with other violations which understandably they wouldn’t want anyone to be aware of until it happens. I doubt it, but who knows.

During Vanilla there were a fair few gold selling sites and boosting sites about, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them make a little comeback once Classic is around.

Right now, they (those companies or groups) seem to be focused on some game called ‘Runescape’ or whatever.

Why report them? There was a time when the levelling was extremely important, as it taught you how to play you class (specifically Vanilla-WoTLK).
These days it’s an amusement park designed to waste your time and gate your progress to endgame content. You can see it in the way they handle flying too. No flying until you jump through 17 hoops to get it, in order to keep you subscribed for as long as possible.
And nowhere along the way does it teach you anything about your class.

Personally I wouldn’t use a boosting service, but I can definitely understand people who want to skip the brain dead gating. If you want to do something about that, help get Blizzard to release flying at an expansion launch, and roll back the Cata changes to world quests that made everything boring.
