With the reveal of 11.2 Patch, PvPers are in shock looking at the new void-themed mounts people will acquire from M+ and Mythic Raiding, while they will be getting the same recolored Gladiator Mount from Season 1.
Many would argue that players who end up as Gladiators every season is a very small percentage of the game.
As this may be true, it shouldn’t be a valid reason to neglect Arenas highest achievement, which is the Gladiator Mount.
Arenas have had a huge impact in World of Warcraft history in general, and the first Gladiator Mounts that came out in The Burning Crusade had motivated a lot of players, PvPers and PvErs included, to work towards that goal, giving their journey a whole new meaning.
Their prestigious nature elevated the game itself and left many aspiring to achieve it one day.
If it’s too late to change the Season 3 Gladiator Mount, make some adjustments to it so it can share the aesthetics of the new void theme mounts.
This change would be a strong message towards the PvP Playerbase, letting them know they’re an equal part of it.
No one really cares about the glad mount. NGL. Too few people get it and so no one will ever take your petition seriously. Sorry but you’ve gotta real, those who care, take up >1% of the playerbase.
Cant care of the color or looks of some reward if the whole reward system has stopped working and is in need of overhaul, or removing of some modes. Doing nothing at the actual problems and changing some rewards looks does nothing I agree. And it doesnt change no matter how many same topics people make.
No one should care about PvP Rewards anymore, they are all just bad and badly placed.
Just let them do whatever until the PvP player base dies or until they rework the whole rewards system and MMR system.
As mentioned above, Gladiator Mounts achievement is a prestigious award that elevates the game with its existence, wasn’t meant for everyone.
That doesn’t mean it should be neglected.
The appearance of the Gladiator mount should be the least of PvP players concerns, there are far more important issues we need to discuss and push for change on.
What you really mean is that it makes money for boosters. I’m sure the 10 or so people who can get it legitimately have collected enough Gladiator mounts at this point.
Sadly true, changing cosmetic of something or even increasing rewards wont do much for rated systems design that needs overhaul and rework in first place. If we have people in dozen modes and expansions and still using rating system which doesnt take it into account in any way at all, then quite frankly that needs to be changed first.
No it simply is not worth the investment. For another thread i looked up how many players actually receive endgame mounts (DF S4): 3.07% (and going up because still farmed) for the raid mount, 25.68% for the m+ mount, and only 0.21% for the glad mount. And that was arguably the best Glad mount they ever made. A mount that nobody can get is not an incentive to participate in rated PVP.
