I guess that depends on your luck with getting good ones in the first place. I always melted the rubbish ones down to get more TR towards getting the ones I needed.
I worked with some OK-ish items and then bought 2 specifics 
It really depends what players prioritises. I also really don’t want to carry around 6 extra pieces on top of all the dps stuff I carry around for different content, I do have a wep and shield for tanking and a wep and offhand for healing, different trinkets for both. It’s just silly how much space off spec gear takes up.
So with Azerite gear I only heal or tank in retri set up azerite and only ever for really low level content.

Well let me put it this way, i need 2 good non-frost dk traits to play frost, the system worked fine before they added another ring which then forced you to use frost dk traits, thus i then have to respec to go blood rather than just using the gear as is.
Isn’t it lucky holy ‘requires’ 1 light’s decree (the retri trait) 
You play Disc with shadow traits. 
im refering to the neutral traits specifically, they should not have added a ring with only class traits.
have been playing warlock the entire expansion and had no issues with it personally, i have 2 full sets of 450 azerite from weekly chests for aff and destro, and i have a full set of heroic azerite for demonology, getting extra pieces isnt difficult
Now I want new respec animations

On a related note I wish we could have the specc items/pieces in a different, specific, bag space. Kinda adds up.
