Dont fool yourself the reason that leveling in classic takes longer is because of the quest structure and the lack of mounts until 40. No ivl and world scaling in classic as well. Classic is way way easier as proven by people already clearing raid bosses in greens and with some in the raid team not even max level.
It’s pretty clear that “classic is hard” myth is already busted. It was mostly the fact that people were new to the game back then that made it feel hard.
I didn’t read the entire thing.
I don’t care if a game is hard or not. Make it x20 tougher, that won’t save it.
I care if it’s fun.
Yes and mage is only one who can pull this off whixh makes that class special. Also he can aoe pull becouse of use of his toolkit. On retail anyone can aoe pull. You dont have to use utility or any class toolkit at all. Just pull mobs press aoe dead.
Another big problem. You cherry pick raids like it is some ultimate end game content what everybody will do or should do. Fact is avout 99% of classic players doesnt give **** aboit raids. Most people play classic for community whoch is nonexistent on retail. Classic is far superior rpg game with far better immersion. People are not playing classic becouse they think it has harder raids. They play it becouse it is fun. Everybody knows raids are not harder than mythic raids. Thats just nature of 15 y of raid desing. But retail just cant compete with classic world and dungeon desing.
At retail if you dont do mythic raids or mythic +10 you can literaly solo faceroll entire game. Everyone agress that majority of players do not raid yet content created for this type of players is most boring co ntent you can do in BFA. Casual dont want free handed stuff. They want content with decent challenge and progression. BFA do not have that.
This. I really don’t understand why people are putting the games up against each other. Just stop. Who are you trying to convince, and with what? And at last, why?
I like both games for different reasons and others opinions about them are worthless.
Who cares if retail is harder game? Wow is casual rpg game and most people play it just to past some time and have good time playing with friends. All that balancing that blizzard did to wow only destroyed core parts of the game. You know implementing stripped down talent system or anti social features was not a good idea no matter how blizzard tell us it´s better. I don´t like it and so does many other people.
oh god that elite zone in mechagon I will tell you that quest will never be done by my clothies until next expansion it’s a bit like those cows on timeless isle at the time.
Me : "Hi Again "
Spirit healer: “ain’t you a bit sick of seeing me so many times in a row”
for context not a raider or mythic runner all but 1 character is under 400.
when it got hard in classic for a split second my Imp was on aggressive (lesson learned) and several crusaders ran at me and with some spawning on top of me.
I don’t, but the classic trolls who spammed this forum back in the eternal palace World first race surely did, and were proven wrong lately.
This whole “classic is brain dead look at the MC WF” argument started with threads like “Ragnaros took two months to die and Azshara was killed in less than two weeks the BFA raid content is piss easy lol”
Imo MC do not really represent the classic experience and this argument is pointless (Pservers cleared MC with 20 players iirc, i don’t think anyone expected some mythic raid level of challenge) but it would be naive to believe this mess only started with the WF.
Classic trolls sold classic for something it wasn’t and they were proven wrong. Anything beyond that is meaningless provocation between the two communities
Classic is so old, graphics are rubbish, internet issues back in the day, I use to go on after 5pm because it was cheaper back then to use internet, my ball use to get jammed in the mouse and couldn’t scroll.
After all this and it still better memories then current.
How difficult a game (version) is has little to do with ‘amount of time required’ to achieve a goal… if a game is genuinely too hard, all the skill &/or time in the world will be pointless.
If you have a mental aversion to spending time doing a task, that’s on you… as is any under-estimation of the time required for said task.
Classic is different to Retail; and Retail is rife with mechanisms that help you get stuff done.
As to the aesthetics of both versions; they will be different, but a decent machine to play them on will maximise what we’re given to work with… esp. when you remember that even Retail uses a whole different type of game engine to pretty much every other game in existance.
But both games run on the same engine now
