it is all over. Season goes live with everyone buffed around 5,7-5,8mil dps in raid with the exception of Warlocks,DKs and Ele Shamans doing 6,1mil even after nerfs and Rogue is left doing Prot Warrior damage. Abandon the class until it gets a developer. Good luck on your Season 3.
It makes me very sad to see that two (DK too) of my top 3 fav classes of all time are the most boring and unfun to play ![]()
Leveled up my OG rogue main from TBC, but I got sad when I slowly witnessed the gameplay. Restrained, gutted, much less choice, and the criminal act of changing combat for outlaw. The pirate-wannabe discount spec from Temu. And a bad spec at that.
Iâm half tempted to replace my OG rogue with a hunter or frost DK. At least they feel more fun to play. Sad days.
I wrote a post about rogue issues in GD yesterday, but barely anyone read it. IDK whatâs wrong, maybe I had a bad title or maybe itâs too long. Or maybe Iâm just bad at writing. But I will just assume nobody cares about rogues for now.
Let me know if you agree with some points, propose your solutions or tell me how wrong I am, that donât understand anything and should go play paladin)
I like my rogue but i donât like playing it as it just does not feel like i am playing a rogue/thief/scoundrel.
I do not want to be some kind of magical weird thing if i wanted that i will play a mage. I want my rogue to be just a dude with two knifes and see how it goes from there and my abilities to be a-hole moves like throwing sand on peoples eyes not being shadow magic wielding âknife mageâ.
The themes and class identity is to me worse than how crappy rogue plays currently but both are about the same i hate how rogue plays and i hate the direction that developers went with rogue.
My Arcane mage feels more like a thieving rogue mage than rogue feels rogue/thief in its current way how it plays and its class identity.
Definitely agree. Class identity of rogues is probably at its worst right now. I only play rogue because of the nostalgia.
I think the last time it worked was BfA, and only because rogue fit the themes of the expansion so well and the whole alliance vs horde theme with a war campaign were kinda good. Separate cities as well, which is much better. Before that, in Legion, class hall was great as well. I still go there sometimes and hang out in the sewers with fellow rogues, just to remind myself that Iâm playing a rogue and not some weird worse version of a warrior or a dk with daggers
IDK, I donât feel very magical as an Assassination Rogue. Subtlety is the most âmagicalâ of the specs, Assassination is literally just knives for days, vilest of brews on them, and like two low-flash, high-impact magical tricks (Shadowstep and Cloak of Shadows).
Well, now you canât even play the class cause itâs full of bugs, half of the talents are not working, cooldowns are desyncing themselves, tier set is 50-50 if it will work or not, randomly generating combo points without doing anything or pressing stuff and not getting combo points. Half of the raid bosses and their adds also have messed up hitboxes so you canât even touch them if you are not standing under them. itâs clearly the worst patch to play rogue or any kind of melee that doesnât have mid range skills and the most buged and forced patch ever.
Not sure, i got a lock also, but even in pve is the least entertainment, 3 button presses and topping the meters looks âfunâ. As per entertainment they could remove locks tho, and keep only retpal as option. I rather play a rog with full of bugs, than a s+++ tier lock.
Even without bugs the design of the class is very annoying to play without a premade team that doesnât play around you wait for you to re-stealth etc etc and currently every pug group is a pain to play with all the bad chain pullers out there. After reach 3100 score i just gave up and rolled a DK which is a 2 button braindead spec but at least i can do dmg whenever i want to and not when and if others allow me to.
Still enjoying playing rogue, since 2005, thank you.
Mostly Outlaw / Subtlety.
i would enjoy any class too if i didnât want to do any relevant content and just run around in delves or do world quests
Iâll be back on the class if they properly rework outlaw, makes rogue more fun to play and remove armor restriction for tmog. Otherwise Iâll find it hard to get back to it as main.
Well i think Outlaw is the worst spec in the whole game not only as rog. I play sin but since the entire talent is one pile of bug, i just started gearing a warr. Which is doing good now.
Once Blizzard hires a competent dev to fix Rog probably will be continuing to play rog.
But at this stage as assa rog impossible to get into any keys, above 15 and if u get in probably gonna be a burden only. Unless u play premade, and the team plays around rog.
I did the same, went with rogue from TBC > WoD, then DH from Legion > BFA, got bored of its playstyle, Warrior in SL and since Dragonfart I play ret.
I do prefer onehanded swords and itâs unfortunate warrior fury canât use onehanders without being trash. And I donât like the aesthetics of DK. So Iâm a bit stuck tbh.
Waiting on Midnight alpha to see if they are making good changes overall and Iâll see if my old rogue will get back in the action or stay as perma alt Iâll just use for WQ and extra loot chances.
i wouldnât trust anything they showing about next expansion when the current one is broken and super bugged for a year. itâs a company, all they want is to sell copies, merch and keep people subbed by selling hype but ending up delivering frustration and disappointment. Getting daily updates about transmogs, npc models and random stuff instead of current bug fixes and tuning. Even if on paper they make good changes for the class there is 99% chance that most of the stuff wonât work like now. Not having a dedicated developer for the class wonât change anything going from on expansion to another. At the end of the day if you want to play at a high end lvl you canât play what you like.
