Yeah it’s a common misconception cause of Hollywood.
The “Dark Ages” weren’t that dark tbh. Quite a lot of people had great personal liberties, there were advances in science, metallurgy , Architecture…

Mind u there were some pretty horrid things going on, but not really the oppressive soul stomping era that pop culture makes it out to be :smiley:
