Some fights she lands and breathes instantly, some she did not land once until phase 2 or she flies so far away you cant focus her down then the next she stays within range all the way until phase 2.

After watching some videos and doing the fight a few times myself, it seems that the dragon will always try to flank/outrange a random party member by 15-20 yards. If that party member is standing close to the edges and dragon picks a bad side to do his breath it might outrange melee and tanks. Seems the best way to start the fight is in the middle with the group stacked so it doesn’t matter which one the dragon picks.
