If the “west” didn’t have an external enemy to focus all their projections on, they’d run a risk of facing the horrors their own countries unleash upon the world. It is the evil terrorist murderers Russians now, it will be someone else tomorrow, probably people skeptical of untested gene therapy and useless face muzzles, or those refusing to let sexual predators groom and mutilate kids, or those not eating bugs and living in rented pods while they own nothing.
