They were actively just trying to waste peoples time for their own amusement. It would be like taking the flag in wsg and stacking your entire team on defense without ever capping it, just to run the BG timer out.

Surely preventing you from taking their objectives, is playing the objective of the game?
Running straight to end bosses in Alterac Valley is boring anyway. I always encourage my teams to defend.

Nothing wrong with playing defensively, but this was very evidently not that. They instantly met us head on in the middle then fell back and held position at the Stonehearth GY and made no attempts to play any objectives. I even tried to flank through the chokepoint at the back of Stonehearth GY only to find they had a mage who’s only job all game was to stand at the back of the GY and spam flamestrike to catch any stealth classes trying to break past their line.
They had very clearly organised to hold that particular point and drag the game out as long as they could.
I’d rather not get the deserter debuff and have to wait to requeue. I’m aware it’s not reportable hence why I’m voicing my frustration here.

i find it extremely interesting, that the same community complaining about “griefing” in hardcore classic nonstop, and opening tickets for them etc, doesn’t understand that playing vs someone exploiting and cheating, isn’t fun at all
now if you are one of those that are gonna ask “how is it cheating” save it, you shouldn’t be allowed in the conversation if you are that clueless
if you think that what most of these groups do is okay, than you are probably part of the problem, or join them, and don’t see how bothersome it is to waste time into q, only to be matched like this for entire days, everyday, for entire expansions, and no, im not exagerating, there is a whole bg pvp community out there, of people who all know eachothers, and see eachothers in bg often, if you have played 100 bgs in your entire pvp career, you are prob ably clueless on what is going on in the bg scene
there is people that play bgs, like xaryu plays arena, me being one of these guys, as i spam bgs daily, everyday, everyweek, for years, i play mostly solo, and i face both premades, and russians pretty often, so w/e a random 50 bgs played comes by and its like “no, u wrong, this and that, here and there”, buddy, come join me for a few days, it might make you open your eyes to the reality of what the whole situation talked is, instead of expressing yourself with 0 knowledge of what is going on
as for the whole “sanctioning and warr etc etc” that has nothing to do with this. Don’t bring politics into this, people just wanna play game, i wanna play in peace, and i voice my frustration, and lots of russians just wanna play in peace.
but premades was something russians started before it was cool, now lots of eu teams do it too.

Not sure where you got that impression? Far from it. We didn’t care if the game ended in a win or a loss, we just all wanted it to end out of sheer boredom.
I dont think ruskies are that terrible or win as much as their fame indicates. They often leaves when they play against people they know they can’t beat . xD
At best the average Russian player takes BG more seriously than the average European player, but they aren’t exactly unbeatable, and that problem has a solution beyond asking to be removed from the game.
i want to take this as an opportunity, to also remember people, that when they 40man join, and 40 man quit, the problem is not solved, ive seen them quit a few times when things weren’t getting their way, so their winratio doesn’t get tarnshied, and they made a whole set of 40 alliance join just to get camped because, they join 1 by 1, and with objectives already gone
so yeah, they ruined the game for an extra 40 players, gotta mention that
just beating them, doesn’t fix the problem AT ALL.

It would be solved by adding a longer penalty to deserters.
