Hello! I have a high-end PC and got stutters/input delay on a fresh install of wow with no addons etc. It’s not a hardware/internet problem either,
The test:
Tried my brothers PC that was running his WoW perfectly smooth and responsive.
-here it comes, WHEN i logged into my battle.net and started WoW on his pc, the input delay and stuttering was there!
-Even worse, NOW my brothers whole ACCOUNT on his pc is also lagging! (After my WoW acc was used there)
TLDR: Somehow my account has some problem that is causing corrupting game files/addon settings or something and inflicts input lag/stutters. (Might be to many saved variables stored on different hard drives?)
Could use some help if anyone has experience in this.
(Steps and tips for others):
Resetting UI/CVARS/Client synched Macros/settings.
Step 1. /console cvar_default - helped a little bit.
Step 2. This setting seemed to help the most:
/run SetCVar(‘synchronizeMacros’, 0)
and: /console synchronizeConfig 0
Still not responsive and delay on spellscasts, Anyone have an Idea what could cause it on my account, comment below.
Yep same issue. It only happens on my monk when windwalker where it will stutter every 5 seconds when looking at monitoring.
Changing to brewmaster and stutter is completely gone. Get the issue on my steamdeck and mac as well so is 100% a blizzard thing to resolve.
If it isn’t soon I doubt ill be playing much longer
U use too much badly written macros.
U use too much Cvar script → u completely change how the client works → dont be surprise if the client run into errors and bad working.
Macros itself doesnt corrupt any game files, but it can change basic parameters. I tell a sample for it: The maximal camera distant is coded (many years ago the client had longer cam distant). If u change this parameter (cvar), u can increase this camera distant, but the client get instability.
In this way, every change what overwrite any basic thing can cause instabil working.
Proably it then… Only a blizzard employer (@blizzard, help) could probably reset my client settings. Dont think i can do much more. Have had the accont since Vanilla but the delay lagg started in TWW when swapping from am4 to am5 setup. Yeah bunch of macros/addons/scripts during the last couple of raids might have something to do with it.
Try to use addons for these things. If u can use any addon (weakaura, etc) then any change works untill the addon runs. If u turn the addon off, the parameters will get back to normal.
So the addons can change things without making the game instabil.
I hate to use too much addon, but sometimes its necessary (quality of life change), and its safe to keep the basic game untouched.
Update: Having 17ms/17ms world and game but noticed i have 200-240 ms showing in Quartz cast bar when using spells. Quartz is probably correct and all my spells register 0,3-0,5 sec after pressing them. Everything from Walking to dragonriding also feels slow and unresponsive.
Im thinking my game/account has some wierd client/cvar setting causing the problems still.
try /console SpellQueueWindow xx
where xx is your global ms
helps me with responsiveness great time
there used to be a default setting for that in the interface but it got removed in legion, still accessible with “advanced interface options” addon though
Tried that! also been using AIO for a while.
I recently red somewhere " * If you have multiple copies of the SavedVariables.lua
file in different locations, it can lead to unexpected behavior (e.g., addons forgetting their settings)". Trying now to locate all diffrent disk and folders to delete old once.
