Haters gonna hate, but I can agree with the covenant, Torghast, zones and PvP vendors bit in OP.
Neutral on the Maw as capping players in farming player power (when Eye of the Jailer was active and Stygia was actually important) wasn’t my favorite feature. Zone was small enough to traverse without mounts but druids and worgens should have been handicapped too properly.
Bringing in valor made it worth more or less to play keys but it’s still inferior ilvl wise.
For every game ever made that people post about on the internet you will get haters. In my experience many of these people are just burnt out with the game and don’t know where to vent their frustration at “having nothing new to do”, I know, I have been that person.
Subjectively. You just gave your oppinion, which is of course fine But don’t state it as facts, since a lot will disagree with basically every point you made.
its a bait.
anyway: zone were meh. i just appreciated revendreth and ardenweald.
maw wasnt so good. too full of mobs. not dungerous but boring.
i love how this week was full of xp boosts and tw dungeon so i can level alts without stepping foot in sl.
I for one agree. People will find literally anything to complain about just for the sake of it. I really enjoyed Shadowlands and I hope DF will give me the same joy.
From a gameplay point of view it was alright storywise though eh its up there with wod i was half expecting sylvanas to shout THE SHADOWLANDS IS FREEEEE!
It is not searching for anything when you are literally not having fun with for example covenants. I had to make 3 holy paladins because of that b#sj1t. My hate for covenants is real. Did i had fun in the game? Yes, i tried to play around all the SL crap to find my fun. But everything SL was created for anti-fun. So it was difficult to get around.
Mostly agree, lad.
The zones were stunning and monumental!
I’m glad I didin’t cheap out when buying graphic card for my PC.
Funny (and sad) that I did not realize for a couple a years that I was plugging my monitor to the internal pc plug instead of the graphic card.
When I finally found out and inserted the plug to the graphic card… tears fell down my chin for two reasons… the beauty of Shadowlands and my nincompoop brain not realizing this sooner.
eh that would be way to broken while some classes like paladin don’t gain massive power inside of boregast classes like Warlock and Shaman turn into Gods heck by the end my void walker could most likely have solo’ed zovaal
Which was another problem of SL, next to covenants. Torghast was a mandatory weekly climb (on every char), and it really depended on your spec how easy or fun it was. Like my main holy paladin was not fun at all. But it got very wild on resto shaman.
as a ret getting dmg up was pretty much what made or broke the run for me sometimes you would get overloaded with useless utility ones and not have enough dps to kill the boss
The beautiful world artwork, even if I still wrinkle my nose at Maldraxas.
Cosmetics to collect.
Storyline
Mission table
Optional content - Ember Court, Stitchmasters, Garden (not you Path of Ascension…) although a bit complex to understand.
Issues:
The Maw - horrible to navigate, punishing metrics and awful elites which were part of the compulsory storyline. (Main reason I always skip a lot of the story )
Darker areas with dense packed, tiny hard to see mobs.
World bosses without a safe area to wait in while joining groups.
Would have been better if…
Each covenant area plus storyline adapted so you could choose the order and place quested.
Alts got better gear to get through the harder quest areas rather than buying stuff off the AH.
More anima offered in the Covenant areas.
Choice of NPC help, eg. Tanking, healing, dps
The Jailer actually showed us what his ‘vision’ would look like apart from the grunge style Torghast decor and torture.
yup, this for me too.
Lovely music and beautiful looking zones, even The Maw is a pretty amazing looking zone (if you can look objectively and not think about how much you hate being there!).
Oh, and the weather…Shadowlands has the best weather in the entire game. Those shooting star effects in Ardenweld, creepy souls raining down in Maldraxxus and blood rain in Revendreth!
ye that’s basically what i said i don’t think people understand who don’t play all classes or aren’t one of the Favoured by Devs with insane boregast powers just how broken you become
You omitted the part where they got rid of emissaries and replaced them with callings.
They made WQs deceptfully long and annoying to complete.
The anima grind was as bad if not worse than AP grind.
It was very alt unfriendly until the much later patches.
Memories for legendaries were gated behind content not everybody plays.
Trying to get rep in the maw was the biggest chore of them all.
The 1 million different currencies and the low drop rate of them all.
Professions were made better but unless you were a millionare next to impossible to craft anything worthwhile AND a lot of basic things were rep-gated which meant making a profession alt army was again, a very boring chore.
I personally despised the Night Fae but that’s just a personal preference and the zone gives me migraines. It’s beautiful but OW. The story made me cringe x1000 but again, personal preference.
The levelling story and the art and music has been and always will be the best part of wow.
There are positive and negatives for all expansions but this is the only one where I logged off after a few days of the end game content, absolutely bored. That is going to stick with me for a long time. And quite frankly, the story ending was a massive disappointment.
If a holy priest had torghast powers outside of torghast they would one shot anything in the open world. Including the world bosses and faction leaders.
That power you see in the video dealt more than 100% of a target’s hp when I used chastise. Yes, it was percentage based and it would kill anything you used chastise on, doesn’t matter how much hp they would have, it would deal more than they have in hp.
