Did you know you can immune a spell if you time Shadowmeld? This was my point exactly - that Shadowmeld takes skill TO USE IT TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL … but ofc it’s not complicated if you reduce it to a simple Shadowmeld → stealth macro…
Also, being able to clear EVERY bleed/disease/poison/magic effect when you’re fighting a feral or assa or affli lock or unholy dk etc. is absolutely as good as being able to re-stealth! Why do you think there are so many Dark Iron Dwarves at high rating?

come one man… Its like comparing pushing a button with, lifting a cover and THEN pushing a button. Yeah its harder, but its still not hard to meld a coil or stormbolt. Silly.
However, the “skill” it takes to utilize the racial is not really the topic here, nor of any relevans. Shadowmeld is OP compared to the other racials, and be it “skill required” or not. Doesn’t matter.
Shadowmeld is now a 2 minute cooldown ability that removes all threat, causes NPC’s to stop attacking you and limits the radius from which you can be detected for 6 seconds.

personally i dont think meld is that op (it certainly wont stop u from getting 2,4k), but I do agree that racials should be disabled in rated pvp
We dont agree on sh**… and the top players will reroll whatever race has a 0.01% advantage. That doesn’t say anything about whether or not Shadowmeld is too strong or not.
Also, Night Elf is generally an extremely popular race, so many will play it even if it had mid racials.
I don’t see how it bothers you so much, that a different race is now the go-to. Before DF there were some stealth class players who played nelf, but there were still mostly orcs cause Hardiness was so broken. And everyone else who wasn’t a stealth class played orc guaranteed! Now orc is low A-tier and people get to play something different for once…. Get over yourself

This is why every other match in 2s is Rogue, Mage and every single 3s team has a Preservation Evoker in it.
I choose to take the 0.00001% disadvantage vs other healers because I enjoy playing Mistweaver.
I still find groups.
I still win games.
I still have fun.
While you’re crying about Shadowmeld.
And then you’ll cry about escape artist.
And then you’ll cry about Regeneratin’.
When does it end? It ends when players like you have reduced the game to a series of non-descript polygons because you don’t like that someone has elected to choose an easier path than you.
Either be a badass and play something off-meta, or roll an evoker. Either way just be quiet please, others are trying to enjoy themselves.
No matter how you think you’d be able to perfectly balance each of the racials out, there will always be one that takes the top position, and the meta slaves in the top 100 will abuse the 0.1% advantage it gives them.
“Just balance them” isn’t an argument. No means, no method. Just shouting over each other.

Yes you did strawman me. I never asked for homogenization. But you phrased your very first sentence as if i asked for that, in a condecending manners too.
True. But im also not just basing this of off whats in the top, eventho that kind of statistic is overwhelmingly evident that something is stronger than the others. Im basing it of experience. The amount of matches i could have won if enemy rogue wasn’t night elf so he got an extra vanish is PLENTY. The amounts of matches lost because enemy healer could emergency drink on the dot, when his DPS had some defensives to spare; while my healer had to wait until he gets out of combat. Its not just something small like escape artist, as used from another author as an example. No. We’re talking racials that completely concludes the outcome of the match. Thats an issue.

Remove racials. Its an RPG and to me, and i want race to be about how my character looks. Thats MY opinion. But if racials have to stay, make them less prominent in terms of power. By a lot.

I get your point with vanishes. I know having extra vanishes is a strong ability and is picked up by a lot of players because it is easy and suits their classes. I play Panda not because I love the amazing aesthetic of being a fat animal, but because I like the extra CC and it allows me to set up paralaysis/palm into sleeps.
I enjoy having racials. It adds something back into the game that I think is missing - Identity mostly.

It adds identity to the game? I’d argue it does the opposite. Most ppl pick out of what racial they want, not what race they wanna play. So the identity is the racial, not the race. Heck, some ppl even pick the opposite of the FACTION they wanna play, just because of racial.
