I play frost mage and hunter so I know that the comparison is not viable. Mage can absolutely destroy rogues , warriors and melee hunter like basic mobs.

Increasing damage output to have something viable in PVE with the amount of controll they have would make them way too OP. For hunters it is far from that. Beside the bad joke that melee hunter is , it is way bellow average in PVP , even if with some skill and luck you can get some highlight on some matchup , in pve you are behind tanks even with 90+ parses

Tankiness, utility, high dmg. You can only chose 2, shaman have all of them.

this is a complete fallacy btw. Your parses are directly tied to the overall quality of the raid team you are a part of.

If you are a solid player helping others who maybe have never even played classic before you will not be a parse god no matter how much you try hard.

It’s a big red flag to me when people think the way you do, just think about it. It doesn’t even make sense, it’s so presumptuous, like you are only playing with people because they fit into a meta comp and understand how to read wol parses to change up their fights? it’s pathetic.

mobility and cc considered as utility
being able to heal, grounding totem, slows, ghost wolf, purge, interrupt, grounding totem is your utility
and still fat as tank and do damage like glass canon

The point being you can define things in whichever way proves your point. Being tanky could be exchanged for being at range, in which case ideally you take no damage at all from a melee class for example. Should then a ranged class have both high damage and utility? It would appear not.

Dunno why blizzard doesnt just stick a ā€œwhen using this rune you deal 20% less damage in pve and 40% less damage in pvpā€ on the Main Tanking runes. They get to stay nice and solid in pvp but dont 1 shot people whilst using it. Surely Easy fix.

Mages, druids, hunters, destrowarlocks, sps have their utility and do good damage, but still die fast if catched
Shamans do insane damage from range, fat as bear druid and keep their utility
They simply can place decoy totem and run away

Tanking runes should be punished for using in pvp, like 50% flat damage reducing would be nice.
But now we have some classes just have resilience in pvp and other dont, without anything to pay

IF they get caught. The point being that the shaman will always take damage while running up to them, they only take any real damage when they get caught. It shouldn’t be controversial to say that a class that needs to run others down needs more health than a class based on not getting hit.

They should seperate everything like they do in retail tbh. Right now it’s next to impossible to balance PVP / PVE. But I can only guess there would be riots in the streets if they did that.
