Hi. As a player that played Frost during whole Dragonflight and still playing in TWW, I would like to share my opinion on the Frost DK rework . I will start with the class tree :
- Getting rid of Abomination limb is a step in a wrong direction. In raid it is basicaly useless in most of the enocunters, and in M+ it is a great utility tool. Acting like grip is a raid buff (which we do not have any other of) is pointless.
- For AMZ, it could be a good step to make it 3 minutes cooldown baseline instead of 4, with the talent to to make it 2,5 min. , lower the magic damage reduction to 15% , and uncap it (or if lowered to 15% maybe even leave it at 2 min. CD and 1,5 with talent). You NEED to recognize the fact it reduces Magic damage, unlike priests Power Word: Barrier which (according to tooltip) reduces ALL damage taken by 20%, and is a 3 minute cooldown.
Now for the spec tree :
- If you want to push Frostscythe cleave instead of Obliterate, make it a button worth pressing, especially when you delete DnD cleave. Also, make Frostscythe spend Exterminate stacks from Deathbringer hero talents - so we dont have to click Obliterate in AoE situations just to spend it.
- Make a connection to Pillar of Frost to from Runic Command and Overflow, in case we want to bypass Frostbound Will, which can mess up Empower Rune weapon timing with Rime proc inconsistency.
- Clean up the spec tree - Multiple talents buffing Rime and Howling blast are thrown ALL over the tree. I think cleaning them to one side of the tree (i will say right side, corresponding with Rime buffing Remorseless Winter for example), and make the other side focus more on Obliterate, Frost strike and Glacial advance
- Get rid of Frostbane in some form or another - Either make Frostscythe burst the razorice stacks build up (as Frost strike does now with Shattered Frost) or make it more of a mechanical proc, so we do not have to pray for a proc and can actually work for it.
- Get Frostwhelps Aid back, and strip its functionality from Remorseless Winter.
Please excuse mistakes, English is not my first language. I welcome all to discuss your opinions under this post
