red dragons specifically prefer BElf/HElf forms because they’re so hot.
The main reason why everyone plays an elf is because they look gracious and their female hourglass model looks sexier compared to humans and nelves which have that peasant-look going for them.

Pretty unlikely to see blood elves get human skintones. If they do that they won’t be able to market brown pacific islander elves in the expansion after shadowlands.

I do think it’s important to separate out the reasoning between adding visibly non-human customisation options - where you can and should tell stories about how they came about - and adding options for the human or human-coded races, where you almost always should not.

Hey, the automated algorithm picked up on the loud fanbase wanting alliance elves that weren’t a hue of blue and we get those vaunted tattoos.
