Shutdown WoWMarket Discord/Community

It’s actually the opposite lol. Blizzard makes a lot more money by banning these guys. They end up selling much cheaper gold on g2g than a wow token. It’s the main reason they went after gallywix and oblivion tbh. They are looking out for these people actively.

Well … the purpose of that Discord is to host boost advertisements, so … what do you expect?

You want to be really disgusted? Make a character on Draenor Horde or Silvermoon Alliance. Run to the nearest city. Watch your Services channel go brrrrrrrrrrr. More ads in 10 minutes than WoWMarket gets in a day. Blizzard supports boosting.

(And, ofc, boosting supports the Token, and the Token supports Blizzard, so there’s that.)

Blizzard could legitimately forbid boosting for gold. They could. But as long as they don’t, there will be places where buyers and sellers can find each other to make the deal.

As far as I can see, WoWMarket is clean, well-run. You could send your Grannie there if she wanted a boost. Less chance of being scammed than from the Services channel.

lol clean because you can’t see their gold being sold on g2g for half the price of a wowtoken. Not to mention buying gold from g2g puts your account in huge risk of getting banned. That server is far from clean. It’s full of shady advertisers.

BTW, all those guys you see that advertise on services also advertise on wowmarket. It’s literally the same thing for them except it’s more convenient and they can’t spam there because there’s a timer. It’s just a glorified version of the services channel.

Wow Spoilsport D:

That’s certainly possible. I don’t have evidence, but I can believe that some boosters sell their gold. But that isn’t a reason to shut down this, or any other Discord, or the Services channel. That’s a reason to track and ban the people who are selling gold.

I believe that. But again, that transaction has nothing to do with any Discord, or with the Services channel. That transaction is done online, with a credit card, and in-game between two characters. Blizzard can at least police in-game behaviour, if they want to.

Before Gallywix was banned, Blizzard was all up in their business. They even did a kind of audit, with the cooperation of the boosting communities. Asmongold did an interview with one of the lesser heads at the time. Blizzard have some very smart people. Not as smart as us here on the forums ofc :stuck_out_tongue: but smart enough to be able to trace the characters that the gold middlemen use to mule the gold. If they wanted to.

Even if they could get WoWMarket taken down, what would be the point when they themselves are running the Services channel?
