open ur pockets, who bought the most out of the shop is getting an invite

Worse, it even gets defended :dracthyr_lulmao:

This is the second time they’ve allowed access to beta via a purchaseable option. Mists of Pandaria was the last one to include this in a different deal.

You could still be a beta tester without the purchase which is why there is a sign up system. I’m fully expecting other testers to get invited otherwise there would be little point in having a sign up system at all.

Can’t wait to try out all three hero talents for both pvp and pve

They test internal stuff, they cant test all possible PC configs, wow is not a console game.
Also some players feedback is more valuable than QA, I much prefer for them to listen to kalamazi than random Joe that played warlock and left surface level feedback like “chaos bolts look and sound great!”

i feel most betas as basically just marketing.
more often than not bugs are not being fixed that were mass reported.
negative feedback about balance, talents or systems will not matter etc.

most of time time feedback seems to go right into the trash.

besides probably 99% of the beta testers are just there to try out the new talents/systems for 2hours and then never go back.
most people do not do meaningful testing anyways

They are definitely also free marketing now that we don’t have NDAs and streamers can use them as content to show off.

I’m tempted, but I do not wish to spoil the new expansion for myself.

Good luck to those who are signing up! :four_leaf_clover:

It’s definitely the double edged sword when it comes to testing, you only get one chance to have that brand new shiny feeling.

probably not . as you will get beta access regardless

So when i try to do my sign up i always get this message: “Unable to register. Try again later.” and i really don’t know why. Any help?

Personally I’m in two minds about Beta Testing. As PunyElf mentioned, you only get one “shiny new feeling” and following the quest chain twice (or in my case, often 4 or 5 times, until I get bored after release) can take a bit of the awe away,

However I’m quite happy to exchange “unpaid tester” for early access to understanding more about how professions work so I can share guides with my Guildees & post helpful comments on some items Wowhead, and hopefully gain some knowledge on gathering all those new recipes for my collection habit early on.

A little frustrating then that I can’t even log in to sign up to Beta as my Physical Authenticator, which I’ve had since 2011, died whilst I’m between home moves. Taken 4 days so far to even get to the “answer c20 questions to verify it’s your account” bit of the process to remove it so I can switch to mobile app authentication instead…
