I had to level my mage from scratch and still I can’t create icy bridge nor lift entire ship off the ground, so it IS kinda unfair.
Well Yeah, your PC is not special, they rely exclusively on borrowed power. Jaina is special and has her own power.
Isn’t she just powered up by the Staff of Antonidas wich holds the power of Lei-Shen?

She didn’t need her staff to raise an entire warship from the abyss and power it up with the arcane, nor did she need her staff to freeze the entire blight covering Tirisfal Glades.
She has the staff on her in at least one of these cases, and is it’s owner in both, just because she doesn’t hold it in her hand, doesn’t mean she doesn’t use it’s power.
Lol, it’s not up for debate. If you do magic with your hands, you are not using your staff. She hasn’t used her staff once to perform magic in BfA.
I call it plot power.

I mean the players also don’t use their staff when casting spells, but if you unequip the staff, you are a lot less powerful all of a sudden…
But anyway, I think Vonen is right on the mark.

I mean she can just teleport back to the keep, Boralus is a big city. In 8.2, she was able to teleport FROM MULGORE TO NAZJATAR.
Gameplay =/= Lore. Blizzard uses many visual cues during their cinematics. If they wanted to imply Jaina is drawing power from her staff to do her magics, they would show her using it.
She could have, but it is not improbable to think Jaina might just have underestimated these Mawsworn. She wanted to fight them, and not escape, and she lost that fight because they were simply too fast.
These were targeted attacks and well thought out, one would assume that they would be sent in knowing the capabilities of their victims and how to counteract them as well, I believe the only reason stated that Tyrande didn’t get nabbed was because she has grown beyond expectation (Didn’t Lor’themar say something like that?).
Not to mention we really don’t know much about these creatures unique abilities themselves, maybe they have some form of null area where teleportation around them simple doesn’t work.
I see absolutely no reason why Jaina should get special treatment here and not get kidnapped at this time.

I guess you can make the argument that those chains had some kind of magic nullification effect built into them, but is there any indication of this or is it headcanon? Does anyone know if these Mawsworn mobs have abilities in-game that silence players?
Nah, she insta casts Teleport. Shes been running Ny’alotha on the down low getting all that sweet T3 haste corruption gear and is now rolling with 100% haste
She was taught (to an extent) by Aegwynn and got some nice stuff during MoP. Her using Focusing Iris, or remains of a titan power is as burrowed, as what the devs give to us lately.
If she would keep that staff at that time somewhere on the other side of Azeroth, I would agree. But we don’t use weapons during casts, so…
Doesn’t that mean that if we use magic “with hands” then it’s our power, and was not coming from Legiondaries?

Yes but you need to separate gameplay from story cinematics.
In cinematics, when Blizzard wants to indicate that someone is using a weapon for magic, they’ll have them use their staff. Jaina never uses her staff to raise the ship, or animate the cannons, or freeze the blight, or teleport.
You can’t mix game and story cinematics, they follow completely different rules. In the game Priests can’t wield swords, while in cinematics Priests like Anduin can.
She was always angry in those cinematics, maybe Jaina fuels her Magic with Anger and is less powerful when she’s not angry.
Doesn’t make much sense, but so does her whole powerlevel

Also no Orc has ever won anything in game, its like inflated balloon big but full of air inside.
