Ok i guess u got one of those magical FX then, because my I5-3570K@4,2Ghz dropped to the 20s in 30man raids and it’s a much better CPU for WoW
Must’ve had a good binned chip, just never had a problem with it at all. Then again, you need really good cooling for the thing as it runs hot and using the free heatsink/fan just won’t do it, same for any other cheap cooling fan/heatsink either.
Piledrivers ran hot, especially 8100 or higher, most of the problems would’ve been the the CPU slowing down to protect itself from thermal heat. Wouldn’t recommend using a FX processor without watercooling to be honest and some really high rated CFM fans to keep the radiator cool.
Bit like how the 10th gen i9’s are now these days and soon the 11th gen hot cakes. Going to need some serious cooling solution to keep those die’s cool.
