The M+ mentality in general is toxic, that’s why I stick to raids.

The timers for all M+ dungeons are far too tight and give absolutely no space for any type of mistake, which leads to people leaving the keys as the non timed key will show on IO which is a pretty bad thing for future keys.

A good example is tanking

Tanking in raids is fun, you have trash and bosses but it’s pretty relaxed timing wise.

Tanking in M+ is atrocious, you need to pull 4-5-6 packs at once to even have a chance to make the timer, which means the tanks go speedy gonzales all over the place, and a lot of the time die because of overpulling, then the key disbands.

The timers in M+ either need to be extended by probably 50% (if not more), or people will keep avoiding tanking in it (and healing too, for a lot of people)

Tanking and healing in M+'s as it is simply is not fun except maybe in a guild group or organized group at the very least.

Btw with the addon for m+ (cannot remember rn the name), when you are inside a m0 dungeon, it displays on top of your screen who in the party has a key for that place and what level. If you are aware for that you will not get baited.

But generally leaving once or twice while doing dungeons will not give you deserter. If you get bad groups back to back while running your keys, then I believe the problem would be fixed with being a bit more selective with what you invite.

What I’ve seen this season is not that much of a problem with people holding hostage, but groups taking A LOT LONGER to actually form. In previous patches you had people taking care of who they invite, now they also watch out where they sign in.

I got a mage that went afk after the first pull and there is no option to report him. He is bricking my key and that’s ok with Blizzard I guess.

That is the new system working for you.

Now it requires a group consensus yo end a key. When it’s obvious it’s obvious. The only thing left now is move resilient keys to a more reasonable level. If you don’t like the system your the reason it exists

You can still leave . Some people care about deserter tag .some dont . So its not end of the world per se

A simple solution would be to remove the penalty for leaving once the key is out of time.
Sofar the last week i we stopped 1 key and i ran 6 x 10 all in time all pugs and on some we wiped 2 or 3 times because we are idiots but we still timed them.

I thought people would welcome this change since it tags players according to their preferred style: Those who don’t quit and don’t get the debuff, and those who quit and get the debuff. Therefore if you see that the group does not have the debuff, you know they may keep you hostage. But if you see the group has the debuff, you know they are not there to boost others.

It’s a win-win situation. The only issue is that the state of “leaver” is presented as a debuff instead of as a buff, and that’s what annoys players that don’t want to stay in a completion key.

There is no penalty for leaving adepleted key. OP could’ve just left.

Just out of curiosity (and since I’ve no clue), how do one vote to abandon?

And if the rest doesn’t want to, can’t you be like, petty and just refuse to move/participate?
Do you get punished for it?

Way to over-generalize the whole M+ gamemode. Can I trash raids too? Let me try:

Raiding is the most boring snooze fest ever. Raiding is wiping 200 times to the same exact boss and watch the same guy fail the same mechanic 200 times. And then, so much waiting arround. Wipe… walk back to the boss… discuss tactics for 30 minutes when in fact its so simple:

Read a guide and L2P!!! This is not the RTWF and its not rocket science!! STOP STANDING ON THE FIRE. I am a healer and have to compensate all the time for people not doing mechanics… L2P people!

I also hate lockouts. And the loot drops in general. Do we have a hunter in our group? No? Great. Lets drop 3 bows for this group. Im sure they will LOVE to spend a whole week here and have nothing to show for it.

The worst part? This is the “endgame” for raiding:

  • Either you clean the whole raid in 1 or 2 months and then have nothing else to do.
  • Or you spend 6/7 months of a patch wiping over and over again to the same boss.
  • Or you wait for “blizzard” to help out their baby raider whiners and nerf the boss cause they cant L2P…
  • OR, worse of all… you spend 80% of the time simply waiting on the Bench at Donorgal. Smart way to invest your gametime buddy!!! :slight_smile:
  • Pugging the raid is the worst experience ever. You spend 1h looking for a group. You then spend 2h in there. After 1 wipe. Disband. Now do all that all over again, but with no loot options at all. NICE !

That is really sad. And that is why I dont raid. Its the worst, most toxic place in wow.

I don’t understand this.

You get rewards for an untimed key. You could claim the same claim about loot for a timed key.

If you sink 30 min into a key you may as well sink an extra 5-10 into finishing it, but no - your pride won’t let you have a deplete on your precious score, thats what your actual issue is.

I sink 30 minutes into the key for getting rating.
When you are above 10 you get zero rating for an untimed key.
I don’t need the gear.
It’s nothing about pride. It is about I don’t want to waste my time.
That’s how mythic is built.

No you’re wrong. It’s a reaction to resilient keystones introducing when people ruined keys for everyone else like doing strange things and “meh, it’s not doable, isn’t it resilient? i don’t care, restart it” expecting everyone have resil keys to carry them up.

What you fail to understand that these people would brick the key anyway because they are a bad player.
Now instead of them leaving, you are stick with them in a key that’s not getting timed.
Alternatively they might even just DC so the group gets disbanded anyway, or they purposely play bad to annoy the group.

Not what you said, but ok. Because rewards are more than just rating.

If there were no crest cap, sure.

But when you are properly geared, which you should be in that bracket, then there is no reward.

That is why such penalties were needed, while understanding there are no way to just reset it and or you doing it seriously or getting deserter flag - that put people in condition where they may consider not playing with legs on keyboard instead of hands.
Also, you know, there are report button for gameplay sabotage, if them ruin your experience on purpose.
