I fully understand how it feels like for you. I just think you donât realize/care how your solution would effect other people. Why not suggest something that would make it work better for you but didnât change it for those others? Ask little bit buff for your mythic loot for it to be and feel better?
How about we just go back to ye olden days where people had to get decent gear in raids to be able to crush world content? Why am I able to solo bosses that give me a auto custom group button from Blizz themselves without having entered a raid? My âsolutionâ is the way Blizzard used to make it. All they need to do is go back. Now you demand them to either keep it in this twisted state or make it so these people can keep getting freebies for doing virtually nothing. No, no Iâm not okay with that at all, it makes me putting time and effort in gearing look stupid. Is this an MMORPG or a cookie clicker app?
But thatâs not a good analogy because thatâs not whatâs happening.
If I take your analogy and change that into whatâs really happening, it would be:
Going to a story 50 miles away to get stuff or wait for a very, very rare store to show up once in a while, totally out of nowhere with no warning whatsoever and that store would sell me 1 single nice item.
That promotion you talk about would be unannounced, very very rare and only for 1 single product. Not an entire line of products like youâd get at the â50 mileâ store. So youâd abandon the entire product line of one store just so you can get 1 item on sale on a very rare occasion. How does that make sense?
Furthermore; the analogy is flawed because driving to the store for products, you donât do that for fun. You do it because you have to. Out of a need.
Also youâre comparing a far away store and a store next door, but⌠there are vastly different activities in WoW where you can earn gear. They are not all âstoresâ. If raiding is a store, WQs might be a visit to the local elementary school to give a speech to the kids, Warfronts might be rummaging through the trash behind a local pizzeria, etc etc. All these activities are vastly different and canât be compared like that.
But the last thing Iâd like to add, is that I (cant speak for others) am not asking for âmythic equivalent drops from WQsâ. I am asking for being able to play the content I enjoy and yet keep the ability to progress, get more powerful, get upgrades. Whether thatâs through RNG drops or grinding or an upgrade system, I donât really care.
And if someone doesnât want me to get a nice level of gear (letâs say heroic raid level) after spending months grinding/upgrading etc, well sorry then weâre done talking because thatâs just selfish and lacking the ability to see the bigger picture.
You get such a casual progression system at the end of the expac, sometimes half way (Gear tokens like Nazjatar, argus, tanaan jungle, timeless isleâŚ). But not at the start, not throughout the expac, not from start to finish. And it shouldnât go past lfr gear either. You need to have an incentive to do something more difficult, and that incentive in an MMORPG is getting better gear. There needs to be a hard cap, and a low one at that.
EDIT: No, grinding months (of WQâs) should NEVER give you HC raid level gear. Get out of here with your insane demands, go play a phone game and buy your gear, noob.
Itâs really not, but I can see why you would think so.
Gear is a tool. You have to have gear. The faster I am done gearing, the better. I am not driven by gear, meaning I can actually enjoy the content I wish to participate in pretty much straight away because everyone is pretty even on gear. There is no gear block anymore, at least not anything as bad as it used to be. Those titanforges and âfree lootâ as you call it, is a part of this.
The 455 titanforge I got last night was exciting because it means I donât have to worry any more about that slot this patch much likely. I also know that it helps me stay up to date with everyone else so that I donât need to worry about falling behind once I go into hectic periods(and now while I am guildless), which would otherwise lock me out of content. The reward in my case is completing the content I desire to do. Thatâs my carrot, not the gear itself(but I have to have to gear to progress).
You do spend an awful lot of time trying to justify something that is essentially very simple. You want top of the range gear for no skill investment whatsoever, not even running normal mythics if I didnât misread one of your posts in another thread.
There is of course effort involved, and a grim determination to repeatedly keep doing the same mundane, âsafeâ content come what may.
Blizz should shut the retail servers on release of classic and let these scrubs weep and suffer on Classic, forums are gonna be such a fantastic drama show. Imagine them having to actually level with quest gear and no one to boost them xD. Oh man if onlyâŚ
Iâm not justifying it. Because I donât feel I need to.
I am explaining myself because some people keep twisting my words or say stuff like âfree lootâ or âno effortâ.
And yes your last sentence is true. And Iâm not ashamed of it whatsoever. I have fun in this game a certain way and thatâs fine.
I think that your splitting hairs a little here, at the very least blurring the lines between explanation and justification but I digress. I do find it hard to imagine how someone could possibly feel any sense of achievement when being force fed gear that requires absolutely no progression in terms of game play and skill development but I suppose that links in with your observation earlier that I lack empathy.
Well, you clearly have a totally different mindset when it comes to gaming. And THAT is fine, but yeah that youâre unable to empathize with my way of approaching a game is imo a sign of lack of empathy. But itâs fine. I hope Iâve made it clear what I want out of this game and titanforging CAN, but doesnât HAVE to be a part of that.
This is my last reply for you because judging how you speak to people on this thread we will not get fruitfull discussion. Just as my last comment i want to point out that you give impression you wish other players who are not playing/thinking like you to either quit or suffer in this game. You show no respect for them. And you donât read what they write to you or try to understand them but you just talk with imaginative version of them you have in your head (so basically you are talking with yourself here). And for all that i feel sorry for you because that means you never learn to really understand other point of views. I wish you the very best in game and i hope they will make your loot better so you will feel full joy for doing what you like the best.
He was the one who made the thread about having to join/make a group for mythic Siege of Boralus (yes I have a good memory) at the start of BfA. They ask in the entire leveling up and story progression 1 time for you to go to a mythic dungeon and he was on the forums complaining about it not being queueable. God forbid you interact with others beyond pressing a LFD button! In my eyes he lost the last bit of respect I had for his opinions regarding WoW, a MMO that moment. He only wants only to play WQ and dailies, solo of course and everything has to be on queue system or itâs for tryhards. But he needs to be able to get the same gear as a guild who will progerss for weeks on bosses just for a 1st kill.
My view is if WoW turns SP tommorow and us players will eb replaced by NPCs, the way he plays nothing will be different. I sometimes wonder why such people even play a MMO. Itâs fine if you want to play alone but it remains a MMO, you expect to have to manually group up and talk to tohers for group activities. Beyond a LFD/LFR button. I believe he was also in the thread that complained heroic warfronts requiring a pre-made of 10-20 peopleâŚ
More power to you And indeed there are others like you. I like the accomplishment as well. Doesnât mean I think handing over heroic raid gear for dailies is good for the game though.
I think perhaps up to normal raiding level yes but it should stop there.
Why do I have the feelign the Catch-up emchanics of 8.3 will give out HC ILs for every slot from the start. We are already there, if you ignore the 5 ILs difference gear slots and take trinket power into effect (the 400 IL crafted one is insane for many specs). You have mostly only a weapon to aim for, if lucky also a trinket or two and maybe if stats are good a ring or two? Rest is farmable in pearl collecting by WQ and rares in nazjatar or farming parts on Mechagon (crafted rings and trinkets of 420).
That is correct. And I still hold that same opinion: there should NOT be mythic-only content. People should have a choice in the difficulty they want to run that content in.
Yes. And rightfully so.
Thatâs not the point.
Well, I canât say that really affects me in any way.
Youâre trying to spin it in such a way that makes it sound as if Iâm asking for âregular drops, on par with raiding level ones, from that contentâ. Which is not the case at all. Kindly stop it.
Itâs none of your business how I play though. So yeah, mind your own business instead of trying to make me look bad by spreading lies.
No. >>> YOU <<< expect that.
I. Do. NOT. Play. For. The. Same. Reasons. As. You. Do.
Why canât you just understand that?! Why do you feel the need to try and make me look bad for that? Why do you make an entire post ABOUT ME??! Thatâs harassment mate, pure and simple.
Wrong. Iâd never do an heroic warfront so I couldnât care less.
Now STOP with the slander and lies. Itâs totally uncalled for.
