SoD main problem - everything is too fast

Reality is in the middle bro - vanilla leveling would be too slow for SoD, p3 levelling speed was/is indeed too fast.
The attempt of season of mastery giving +30% to quest exp was the right direction. Just by far too weak to make questing as good as dungeon spam or solo mob grinding.
+100% exp on quests only and +0% boost on anything else would make sense to make quest leveling great again.

Yeah but also same quests. Some runes are not exploring and just pure waste of time on alts. Like dark rider quest etc. Thats one reason why i dont want to create alts. Due to the long tideous quests.
Its fine first time you do it, but not fun to do over and over again

They should have locked levels to 25 and have entire zones and content drop levels down each release, leading to most zones being relevant at phase 4. Whatever experience one gets through content should have gone into a exp based Rune system.

i agree in a way. that is why i changed the game-speed in settings to like 60%.

That’s problem of WoW gamedesign itself, it’s not playable without guides and/or addons unfortunatelly, in any of current WoW versions. And WoW (and absolutely most of other modern online games) designed assuming players using guides. Game should be fully redesigned to be playable without guides, and it’s not only about SoD.

Which runes are hard for you to get even with guide? ABsolutely most of the runes can be get within 2-3 hours, many runes 10-20 minutes, some runes require for you to travel around the world (such as mage books) but you can do it while levelling if you not spamming incursions or buying SM boost. When you are 50 you probably have absolutely most of the runes if levelled not on incursions/boosts.

Agree. I think +100% for quests, +150% for elite quests and 0-50% for anything else would be fine, but main thing is DELETE INCURSIONS, or make it daily.

If anything this fast leveling is actually making people lose interest

You play 50% of the game in 1% of the time, ofc the other 50% will feel bad

Retail is different I guess because you do 1% of the game in 1% of the time when leveling, more to do afterwards (most of it just the same content over and over again but sure)

Something tells me the incursions was to just give P3 a massive boost in leveling so it would be better in line with cata releasing. SOD and classic releases share a lot of the player base I would imagine. It helped me keep up with my raiding guild to do ST week 1, else would taken me 2-3 weeks.

Leveling a new char on cata from lvl 1, and the content is so cookie cutter, you have no tedious tasks mount at level 20, quests that flow into eachother, free gear. But it lacks that what makes it a good MMORPG because of it.

But with any games these days, the players that will eat anything that is put infront of them and are not afraid to draw their wallet are what they are aiming at. And something makes me think these are not the most picky gamers, as long as content is quick, easy, accesible and require little effort to do they are happy (hooked)

I did the retail thing, leveld stupidly fast, got full honor gear in I think 1 day even and quit

good point. the thing is, the world content is not relevant. that is sad. personally i did all the quests because i never did it before and wanted to this time. but there is no real benefit for it. majori. went in to incursion and speed leveled.
those incursion should have been for level range of 3 levels max. (to bridge from 40 to 43 if you were out of quests), or incursion should have only been available for your twinks.
also… a shame how the dungeons became reduntant. wild offers was a good idea in a way, but… ppl just speed run princess.

I still don’t understand where you saw the leveling being too fast. at the start of the phase the bonus was only 50 percent. And I also didn’t see at all why this is needed? millions of players have upgraded their new characters dozens of times. What phenomenal sensations should slow leveling have? Why is this needed now, other than to accuse someone of causality?

Classic is about the leveling experience, random encounters with other players in obscure places in the middle of the night.

Now everyone just plays incursions and the world is empty

Classical wow was about the adventure.

Instead, the wow playas got 150% bonus exp, 30% extra bonus for elite quests, and an empty world because of two incursions. :dracthyr_lulmao:

phase needs to be hitting within the next 2 weeks ideally. im the first person in my guild to log on in over two weeks. the reworked gear they added should have been done from P3 release.

was levelling too quick. yes somewhat. the idea’s with incursions are nice the golds nice. the resonance crystals are again nice but not enough of them they could of added spawns in both feralas and hinterlands.

the less said about the fel scras the better. i literally gave up. got thoroughly annoyed spending 3 hours per night trying to farm modas karkun and getting the most part utter trash.

pvp is just a ridiculous joke.

the simple fact is they simply refuse to address some concerns. fel scars, pvp and up until last week the complete lack of stat upgrades for raid loot. a 1 spellpower upgarde for 10 levels is at best a kick in the backside for any player.

they refuse to address the clear advantage on DPS that melee have over casters.

i hope phase 4 brings good things because honestly it’ll sink faster than anything theyve ever done. the phase is at least 2 weeks odd too late. i have minimum reason to log in. sick of running maraudon for dagger. 100 runs never seen it drop. fel scars are the same . 100 bags and that a stupidly low amount in comparison to other folk. i dont expect everything on a plate but jesus christ. to expect the average SOD player whoc most likely works and has family to spend up to 3 weeks farming for items 8 hours a day is just ridiculous.

Only problem here is incursion, xp buff is fine for season server, but incursion, it is something like “questing easy mode”, you can get xp as for 10 normal quests in 15 min, when on normal questing you do those 10 quests average in about 1 hour.

dude! Why are you writing this now if long chains of obtaining runes have already been implemented. Did you play at all? How long do you think it takes to get a rune? one month? I spent two evenings getting two endgame runes. There are still about 3 left. Some runes are easier to get because they were for the last phase, but you need to spend a lot of time.

remember those pre patch runes… farming those elementals. to this day i wake up screaming. that was back on a pvp server too.

I like the faster levelling, i done these quests so many times, that i dont need questie to tell me where to go.

I think most peoples problem, is that they consider raids as the only content, and if that is your mindset, then yea i can see the game to be boring.

I am still having fun, but maybe it is because im old, and still remember the world from before there was the internet, and because i did not have time to play in 19 when classic came out.

So to me its the same old game that i loved, but with a few twists, that I overall enjoy.

same here. ppl rush up to max. farm the top gear and “finish” the game. now they want to run zul farrak myth key 1-25 :smiley:
just chill. be happy with it. i on my side finished all the quests so far and gosh, i even read most of the quests texts (for the first time hahaha). and it was pretty cool. i dont like it, when you have this constant feel of missing out if you dont play 3 days to up your gear that other 1.4% to be take along to normal content.

They speed up wow in Cataclysm, it ruined the game.
This is the new blizzard, they think if something is slow or methodical it’s bad.
They probably cater to feedback saying things take too long and I bet don’t even got a lot of playtime themselves.

This thread is proving that many people have no clue what this season is about and why catchup mechanics are important in that setting only.
