Its both. When I got my holy priest to 1800 I kept facing healers above my rating and kept climbing. But you can also face worse healers if your personal MMR are worse.
You also need to understand that the inflation is rly low atm since its the start of a new season, but ppl expect it to be exactly the same as in last season end inflation.

As healer for me is like that:
90% of my games end into 3:3 Draw
If I win 4:2 = +10 rating
If I win 5:1 = +45 rating
If I lose 2:4 = -25 rating
If I lose 1:5 = -45
You see this mathematic is against rating gain, because my loses are much more punished than my wins rewarded. Also I play resto druid and my carry potential is trash compared to disc priest, if my mates not use defensives there is no PS or health swap to save them, so i cannot maintain winstreak, and can only be happy to not enter into lose steak.
Highest rated healing RSS ppl are at 2200-2300 rating currently. And I talked about 1800 on my holy priest last season and resto druids are not trash right now. If you keep comparing your spec to the S tier spec over and over nothing rly changes.
Its start of a season so inflation will not be high, and yes, I do expect to loose more depending on what rating the other person has.
Just the same as I dont trust my healers to use CDs for me which they sometimes dont do, I also dont trust the dps to use their CDs either. Its RSS with random ppl.
Its just that it feels like you are complaining quite alot because you feel like the game does not give you the rating that YOU believe you deserve.

In competitive game which want to become serious E-Sport, there is no room for terms like “S-tier” “god classes” , games must be won because how people play not what they play. So my mother tomorrow decide to play WoW and reroll S-tier class for guaranted sucess? You see, this is something which makes WoW E-sport joke game and why people not respect winners on AWC. I hate such a concept with bruning hatred to burn the galaxy… blizzard need to make game where better wins…as long there is something like “S-tier” “gods” and other abomination in game, better do not win, and there will be 0 respect. Keeping classes unbalanced is breeding ground for hatred, It was never issue to shake hand to player who do better than me, but when that players only play “god classes” and nothing else, you simply cannot respect… and this is general issue of WoW
Actualy its oposite, im not complaining about rating gains but more about rating taken away if I lose. My wins = low reward, my loses = high punishment, and since i play class with low carry potential I cannot maintain winsteaks.
So what healing spec is “god class” right now? Its not disc, they are overtuned but not god class.
According to Skill Capped resto druids are A+ atm, and you have one of the strongest CC in the game. What do you deem as “carry potential”? That you cant do as high dmg as FW monks? That you dont have the damage reduction taken CDs like disc?
You def have carry potential with the right stuns/cyclones/roots/vortex.
Some ppl are better than you and some ppl are worse than you. Sometimes you will have better team matchup sometimes you will have worse. So you have to try play around it.
Loosing should have more punishment than winning, it makes you have to fight harder for those wins. The only thing I personally dont like is how your personal MMR drops hard and it takes 2-3 winstreaks to make it better again. Thats my only personal issue with it.
Than reroll druid and go play around it… than you will understand what priest means
Ive played holy priest last season that was counted as worse or equal compared to resto druid. But you can keep complaining and whining then and keep saying you have 0 carry potential and its only the games fault when things go badly for you.
For those who not belive just play and see…
Go play other healers and climb easier and show us the comparison and everything. Go play holy priest for example, should be easy right since they have carry potential right?
just beat your record an hour ago. I was on fury 1.6k mmr as well as cr . I played 4-2 and gained 8 points just as the other player who also playerd 4-2 with me
