The initial concept of the Shadowlands is very mediocre for me, but the coming changes and features sound kind of nice. The level squish allowing you to choose your preferred content to level in is REALLY nice. Pandaria, here I come.
Beyond that, the new character customization is just beautiful. Though I still would’ve preferred new races. Ogres. My sweet ogres. But beyond my own wishes, getting more customization is probably the best thing we could’ve hoped for RP wise. The only other thing that could make it better is if they actually introduced that visible trinket system they were working on back in MoP and WoD before it got put on ice. I wonder what customization they might add for goblins. I know A LOT of people who’d kill for a Gallywix-esque fat goblin option.

I’m unironically hyped for this expansion and I like everything that I’ve seen so far.
Both Bolvar and Sylvanas are cool, and I can’t wait to see what they get up to after that cinematic.

Where are my Silver eyes for male Kaldorei. Its literally one of the few things they need to add to Kaldorei(alongside proper beards elunedamn I want my White Malfurion-esque beard on Mori! D:<)
Also I really love all the Troll skins! I just hope they won’t add Dark Trolls! I mean, sure it would be cool, but abit of a bummer since Dark Trolls are naturally inclined more towards Night Elfs/Druids then Horde 
But then again Sand Trolls have been my favorite tribe for years so I might actually end up making one!(not really, but one can dream, rite?)
Any news on Tyrande, Forsaken and a new capital for both Forsaken and Night Elves? I honest to Elune hope they update either WPL or Tirisfal for the Forsaken and Hyjal for the Kaldorei!

Seems almost guaranteed that something will be forged to stem the Scourge tide and do something about the rift above Icecrown.
Also happy with how legendaries are going to be way less RNG reliant.
Honestly, aside from the (so far) crap story, the rest of the Shadowlands actually looks amazing. Let’s hope they do not scrap half of this stuff and listen to alpha and beta feedback.

So unless they asspull that big D Kil’jaeden and his boys the Dreadlords went there, it’s gonna be a straight retcon.
Nathrezim have always been intimately tied to the Legion’s usage of necromancy. I wouldn’t be even slightly surprised if they had accessed Shadowlands in the past to create Lich King’s armor and weapon.

What I like with that expansion lore is that it seems to tie into old lore and expanding it, not erasing it. They were Always shadowlands with various creatures coming from them, so if they “retconned” Nathrezims into the Shadowlands I wouldn’t mind, it would be more an expansion of their lore than an actual retcon I think.

My ideal Kael story would be encountering him as a Shadowlands equivalent of a homeless drunk, mumbling how it was only supposed to be a set back. We build him up from there, and then as he just seems to be getting it, he turns on everyone with no warning, takes over a castle and begins trying to summon the Void Lords. Seems unbeknownst to us he just, uh, switched paymasters accordingly. So we get super concerned and run to confront him but it turns out he isn’t summoning anything, but hes just mentally snapped and is busy making cuddly stuffed farmyard animals and calling them Void Lords.
