What do the mounts show up name wise in your mount list in game?

Stormpike Battle Ram and Frostwolf Snarler are the new HD versions.

So they each show up twice as individual mounts? One with the old name and one with the new name?

Yes… Both the new and old versions are in the mount list…

But the old versions are greyed out for me as I can’t use them.
If you have your mount list filter set to Uncollected you can see the ones you don’t have.

That’s interesting, so if you have them already, you would really only be doing it for the achieve+better model. But you lose out on the classic look.

Idk now… I might hold onto my classic ones as those will look much more rare in near future?

You can have both though, they don’t overwrite each other or anything.

I just won’t bother with the old ones when I have the “upgraded” ones
But yes, the old ones are pretty rare nowadays, at least not many use them even if they have them.

Let’s be frank here, they don’t look good anymore. I’m gladly take these upgrades, regardless how rare the original ones will be. This isn’t 2004 anymore, it’s almost 2020.

I remember how there was a change to normal Rams a long time ago, many people traded in their normal rams. Those who held onto the original model ones have something special.

It’s definitely being superficial on my part for ‘yay factor’, but I totally want to keep being able to use the rare model over the new model that very many people have now and will come to have.

Of course… The new ones are objectively better looking, because the technology has advanced in the years between them.

But some people enjoy having something that not too many others have

Can confirm that you get both variants… I did it on the Alliance and my Horde characters have access to the Frostwolf.

Don’t know as I didn’t check my “mount counter” before and after getting them, I would be surprised if it counted as 2 though.

I was in your last match with my rogue alt where you were counting the percentages and finally reaching first 99% then 100%. I was that rogue who went (in desperation of how the match was going) to “solo Drekk”. Grats for the mount!

Well thats subjective.
You do get the horde wolf as well, so at least there’s that.

I agree though that it’s a horrible experience to unlock.

I tried charging the Horde forces across the bridge in AV after I unlocked the ram.

It did nothing

I like the ram and would like it but its just too much of an effort to get a HD skin ram i am sure we will get updated ram models in the future when the color options run out for horses.

I wouldn’t necessarily gamble on it being available again. It’s possible, sure, but not guaranteed. It also might be more difficult to obtain future mounts than this one (Which just takes times more than anything else).

If you change your mind, the easiest way to gain badges is to do the Ram quest over and over again. You can get about 20% just doing that if you’re there when the match starts. It’s a lot faster than the mines.
