While I get where you´re coming from , on the other hand it’s the endboss of the raid… why should it be nerfed down to be like soloing some random elite mob?
On Ansurek you could just go afk and let the npc’s take care of her iirc
Maybe you can do it again on gallywix?
Its nice to have here but also if it wasn’t here I would’ve just gone back to not picking up nor completing the seasonal kill final raid boss quest.
Storymode is meant to draw those people in who wouldn’t touch a raid otherwise for whatever reason and get them to finish the quest
Probably so they can sell it as an engagement metric to shareholders ‘this many people cleared the final raid boss’
Playing devils advocate, because it would get more people to kill the final raid boss, which is obviously something important to blizzard for whatever reason (I think engagement metrics)
I think you’re misunderstanding the problem. There’s literally 0 challenge to this boss, it’s just a waste of time because you can just auto-attack it to death. It just has way too much hp. They could nerf it by 50% and literally the only thing that changes is the amount of time you waste.
You seem to be assuming I haven´t done it myself on storymode, which is incorrect.
It took all of 3 minutes with 624 gear, and no it wasn´t challenging, neither was Ansurek.
I still do not agree that it should be nerfed even further to to a 1 -2 minute encounter just because people are lazy (insert preferred term of endearment here) and always want everything for doing nothing. At that point they may as well just autocomplete the quest when you accept it and give people the runed crest, valorstones and reputation for nothing, because that´s what it is.
We, i.e players that already engage with group content, are also not the target audience by any stretch of the imagination. For all we know the feedback from the players it IS targeted at could just as well be that the majority of them felt that ansurek felt too easy for what she was supposed to represent. Maybe they don´t actually want everything to be a 30 second smash and grab?
The argument is if you want to raid and Cba with difficult or people raid finder is there. Want less people than that? Why are you playing a massively multiplayer online role playing game?
You do it once and never gain. 10 min is fine.
LFR is no good fo seeing the story. The group just steam rollers through, you don’t have time to look around. You don’t have time to watch cinematics. You barely even see the fight itself.
You might get lucky and the boss dies first go. You often need 2 or 3 stacks of Determination, sometimes more than that.
If LFR was good enough to see the story they wouldn’t have needed to add Story Mode. Why did they put resources into this if they didn’t need to.
Personally I’d have liked Story Mode to be more like a Follower Dungeon than just a single quest for one boss but meh.
Because people cried lfr took effort
After years of threads complaining that LFR was sleep mode all it took to make LFR be “effort” was adding a Story Mode…
Other people said. I always said it takes less effort than raiding and less time commitment. Good for people who want causal and useful for alts but isn’t real raiding
I already killed the last boss on normal so I had to do they story mode in order to progress the story.
Kill it again on normal difficulty is irrelevant for the wuest
I didn’t mind the encounter taking that long. It was all the tying up loose ends stuff afterwards that annoyed me:)
That said I am very grateful for story mode as a pvp-er . It makes me feel like there was a point to the patch and that my main has completed a journey in game rather than just watched a YouTube video
Story mode is a great addition to the game, and of course it takes a while to kill the final Raid boss. That’s what Raid bosses are all about.
Do you mean the questline about sorting out legal affairs for the Gallagio? That stuff dragged on a bit, yeah.
I agree about completing the journey, i remember the pre-cata days, where (Not being a raider), i ended up with a stack of unfinished storylines, because the conclusions were all in raids, it felt like reading a book, but with the final pages ripped out.
On a side not, it made me giggle thinking about the fact I had the same amount of interactions with the npcs as I have with people in PUGs.
None. With the added bonus that npcs are polite.
That said, the NPCs are also just as toxic as real players at times, which is hilarious.
For example, if you die, the entire dungeon group /raid ragequits
I know, but I’m not going to kill normal again (including all the other bosses) or wait another week.
“omg you all suck! I’m off to find a better team!”
“Oh jeez not you guys again…”
