Subbed only for PvP. Can't find a partner.

This is my problem too. Even if i have high multiclass xp, i find ppl to play with, but even with good winloss rstio,we never get back together. And playing with randoms all the time just isnt fun for me.

indeed. role doesn't seem to matter much in the grand scheme (hehe) of things, healers just cycle through the groups faster.

granted I do find it easier to climb as a healer because you get better teammates on average and much faster groups, but whats the point when you'll inevitably reach a point where personal skill won't let you climb much more because the synergy and coordination of real teams outshines it.

How is it dead if it pops within 5 seconds?!

This is their algorithm doing it.not the participation.if theres at least 5-6 teams queing it will pop up in seconds
I'll play with you. I'm around 1500 rating. Write me!

so much bull!@#$. pvp is far away from dead. I barely play against the same teams at 2300+ mmr.

@Alec
not trying to be offensive but getting 2400+ or even rank 1 should be a long term goal for a new player like you. The difference between 1800 and 2400 is huuuuuge. Dont know about the skillcap and competition in sw tor though maybe i am wrong and you adapt very fast.

back to your topic:
its hard to find long term mates in this game. Just play as much as you can and dont look at your rating until you met a bunch of players who have the same mentality as you. Put them on your friendlist and try to push with them when they are online to build a synergy.

As a healer you will find mates way easier, even if you have less xp.

You can. But it will take a lot of time and patience

basically like any other game with a solo queue grind

@topic:

the biggest problem in my opinion is that everyone, even the !@#$tiest hardstuck 1.5k teams, want to play the best possible setup.
PHP? aaay lmao play a real specc paladin, we gonna roll with a feral.
Ret/War/Heal? aaay lmao y not just go turbo or TSG.
Ret/Mage/Priest? aaay lmao there is plenty of rogues
ret/X/X? aaay lmao we wanna cap.

if it wasn't for my friends not really giving a %^-* about rating and comp i'd have the same problem. but i cba rerolling because i value gameplay over anything
The problem is, I'm "high rated" I have the experience/achievements/gear. But I also cannot find games. It's nothing to do with experience, it's more so the meta. If I log in and try to find games in LFG. Most of the time I'm not going to get any offers outside of maybe one moonkin whispering me.

The thing is I'm not fussed about comp or rating at all. I just want to play the game. But everyone has this stigma that you can't play non meta comps so no one ever gets in contact with me.

representation doesnt necessarily mean a class isn't good. sometimes the meta or design just doesn't allow for a lot of comp diversity but the few viable comps can still be very good.

you are right though, people only care about playing the best possible comps now and rarely consider playing a worse alternative even though it might work out better.

There are less players and when you finally find mate you realize his 2200/2400 achivement was eanred 3-5 years ago and he got 1k games at 1700 rating now.

Well the game is 10x easier now and a lot more simplistic. Being a good player barley matters as trying to distance yourself from average is harder than ever with the low skill floor and ceiling. Finding equal teammates is harder as less people play. FotM seems to be more prevalent than ever before. Gear, gear is all over the place, min maxing your character was easy before, which made it easy to have a competitive character at your disposal, now with the current system people are just lost. Most people still have no clue what they are supposed to equip.

I subscribed to WoW to get into its arenas after SWTOR's pvp died. Also aesthetics of new armor set really appealed to me and I am feeling really glad that I was able to get the plate transmog.

I was looking to play arenas and achieve high rating. Actually aiming for 2400+. Maining Retribution Paladin (rather capable in protection, despite its shortcomings, too). My sub is running out and without a good partner dedicated and ambitious enough to reach Rank 1 I have no reason to come back. I'd like to come back.

I have reached 1800 with a Rogue after just a month of playing WoW but he stopped playing arenas once he's got the armor set he wanted. I got stuck, been trying out healing and tanking with random people and fell down 300 points since then. I have no stable partner and most people using lfr tool are absolutely garbage with their attitudes, lack dedication and skill or are just conquest farmers who don't give a darn. I am fed up with either receiving random invites without people reading notes, them lying about their CR, not using voice despite being asked to in a note or being delisted for activity because barely anyone wants to play with a Ret paladin but conquest farmers.

I am really struggling finding someone to play and improve with. I have watched and read dozen guides on my class and other classes (for the sake of counters), practiced for hours and lost sleep because I want to get good.

I am playing WoW for little less than 2 months at this stage so I don't have that magical exp everyone is asking about but I have achieved 1815 CR within a month in a non-fotm comp. I have extensive experience PvP tanking and dpsing from SWTOR which is a very similar game with its mechanics. I was within top 10 Jedi Guardians/Sith Juggernauts every single arena season reaching my apex with top 3 in the world for Season 7.

I am hardly an elitist. I don't use strong language, I am not a rager or rage quitter. I am sperg that's aiming high and seeks someone of a similar mindset who isn't in it for casual gaming and is willing to put in more effort than your average player.

I have an Alliance Paladin on Euro servers. Please hit me up @ SirFortescue#2515 if you're interested in a fast-learning, dedicated, ambitious and decent Paladin for a viable composition.
i wanna play with ya my btag hunterskillz#21906
Damn, reading all the comments, I think I'm the lucky one in a million, who found amazing partners through LFG. Like 2-3 weeks ago I got a very good, calm priest (really, even if I would die without using trinket or block, or just any CD he wouldn't even let out a sigh), and yesterday a rogue. We started to play, and lost like 100-150 ratings and around 200 MMR, because we just couldn't use RMP synergy for a reason. We won one match, and lost like 3-4 in a row. We didn't rage, talked about our mistakes. I loved how we could talk about what we did wrong, how we !@#$ed up our CC-s, we made plans against other comps, and suddenly we got back 200 ratings and our MMR is 100 more than our CR now. :)

Just don't give up, I know there are more amazing players like my teammates out there!
Hello Alec if you want someone to make 2v2 with you i will gadly by your teammate.I also subed to the game for pvp.

I think most people care about playing best possible comp mainly on lower ratings...
from experience I'd say people are less picky when they're better players...

I'd say it's because lower skilled players don't realize how much skill matters in some aspects thus they possibly see failiures in different places (their class, their partners) than themselves.

Just my opinion.

No it happens at higher ratings as well, hence why I've not been able to play games for almost 3 weeks. Like I managed to wrangle two of my partners back from mop to play Ele DK MW and lost every game tanking rating, but we had fun. I've been sat in LFG for almost 16 hours over the past couple days and only had one real option to play with.

It's because there is no such thing as skill in this game as you put it, your expected to do your max HPS/DPS regardless of the matchup the only thing that changes is from grinding games vs comps to learn what talents you should be using. Thats why comp is so important to most people, why would you play Ele moonkin when you could just play Moonkin DH and have x6 the amount of defensives and a secondary win condition from stun->burning the enemy healer essentially making it impossible for you to lose to a disc priest/paladin/druid unless you are complete trash.

Most people complain they can't find groups because they're not experienced or LFG requirements are too high. This is not the case as I said before I have essentially every achievement to prove I'm a competent player and more than enough gear, yet no one wants to play. Because playing with my spec takes a little bit of effort and/or co-ordination. People will always take the path of least resistance.
