Booo.
Why not for Trading Post as Oct ? (Like halloween)
Says who?
I donât think you get to decide what collecting is for me.
But also: I donât hoard. At all. I only collect what I like; Iâm not a completionist.
I disagree.
Having stuff that 99% of the playerbase canât get isnât healthy for the game.
What you find satisfying collecting subjectively is entirely up to. Itâs just that impulsively collecting everything while disregarding aspects such as established value and rarity is, objectively, closer to hoarding. If you like that, sure, I donât mind.
This is just not an argument against the point that Iâm making.
âBringing them back =/= utterly destroying the value of established items and alienating a chunk of your playerbase.â
There is a balance to be struck, and giving those away via twitch drop and not via ingame means that create incentives for meaningful interactions (like they did exceptionally well with the T3 crafting) is not only unhealthy for the game, but also a massive missed opportunity.
Well, itâs a business and this is a business deal. You might not like it, but itâs the reality of the matter.
But I also disagree that T3 crafting was done well; I have not engaged with it because it requires a ludicrous amount of work and gold. Itâs just not worth it.
So if theyâre going to bring back stuff ingame that is NOT the way to do it.
I would prefer something along the lines of Remix.
Youâre defeating yourself there. If you donât find it worth it, because you donât want to put the gold = effort and time into it, then itâs not meant for you. Some things must stay rare. Granted, they should be just the very tip of everything that is to collect in a game, but they have every right to be rare in that they require a good amount of investment to actually earn.
Arguing that everything you want should be purchasable as easily as things are in remix would be extremly short-sighted and entitled.
Sure, but old things shouldnât. Because theyâre just old; not special.
Well, these twitch promotions are a nice easy way to earn something.
Iâm not going to bother with the pet; I donât think itâs worth paying for.
So, thereâs your âgood amount of investment to actually earnâ, right there.
Trying to demonize me isnât going to work.
I think shattering the overpriced third party market for these is an absolute win.
What exactly are you trying to argue here? If you want to show off wealth and prestige, owning a TCG item ainât it. Its happened, its happening again and itâll happen later, get over yourself and it.
You get the mount, you donât earn it.
Whatâs the argument there youâre trying to make? Things should become inflationarily easier to get the more time passes? Thatâs asinine.
Thatâs a lot of hate towards a group of scalpers (a sentiment that I understand), but sacrificing TCG items in that process is, again, unhealthy.
And theyâre not making this decision for the love of the game and collectors, theyâre using those items solely to drive up WoW-related engagement metrics on twitch.
Semantics.
Someone who got a card with a code didnât âearnâ it then either.
Itâs all earned or itâs all gained. Period.
Not perse; thereâs different ways to earn something.
Weâve seen several examples over the years in WoW.
I just have a preference.
Swiping a creditcard at ebay isnât any more âearnedâ than leaving a browser-window open for 4 hours.
No streamers are the worst thing to happen to MP gamesâŚ
Please, donât disregard all the players who put their time, love and effort into achieving those mounts just like that.
I think a lot of people here actually agree; and thatâs why we opt for the âjust leave the browser open without sound and ignore itâ way.
Tbh dude, if it bother you that much, donât get it from twitch (we both know you will) and instead âearnâ it yourself.
I donât have any hate, that is an awful lot of presumption on your part.
And on the contrary they are making this decision for collectors and those who love the game. We are the ones getting the mounts!
I would very much love for an adequate way to actually earn it. Not having it as a devalued twitch drop and also not for spending stupid amounts of money on it.
Thatâs the whole point Iâm making: Balance.
I would agree with you if it had been gladiator-mounts.
It isnât. These are obtained from codes you get from buying cards on ebay or other third-party sites.
Where they enabling players to earn those things with love, consideration and effort put into it, they would tie it to means not actually worthless and disconnected from the game such as a twitch drop.
