TBC Classic Launch Tonight - Are you Ready?

I will try to enter the portal, find a cozy viewpoint somewhere, overlooking the portal, and take screenshots of the flow of players rushing into outland.

Would have done so if they had added fresh servers, but it looks like they are too eager to sell character boosts to care about players who want a fresh start :woman_shrugging:

I’m not ready. I missed out on the tabard because of this dog 2 week prepatch time that was timed in the worst possible time during which the work season is at it’s peak. I’d hope they’d continue pre-patch exclusives for a week or two onward to make them reasonably grindable relative to the authentic TBC launch experience when players had a lot more time on their hands to get these items. It’s so insulting that a character boost was almost the only reasonable way to reach this as if that was the solemn intention of the weak behind 2 week timeframe

I’m ready… to load up Mass Effect 2 Legendary Edition and rescue Tali from Haelstrom.

I’m waiting at least one month before playing TBC. Let the rushers rush, let the zoomers zoom. Hopefully by the time I get to Hellfire Peninsula it will be nice and quiet. I hate crowds.

Yeah, I’m not sure I’ll be jumping into TBC any time soon. Sitting waiting for respawns lost it’s appeal real fast in massively overcrowded so-called Classic. I’m not putting myself through that again in TBC Classic. Why are there only 4 Normal realms Blizzard? Seriously? There are more low-pop PvP realms than there are total Normal realms. I guess they want everybody to either get corpse-camped for hours on a PvP realm or sit and wait for respawns for hours on a normal realm. Blizz would be in trouble if players realised your money is being drained while you sit and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait because of DELIBERATE overcrowding.

Got to be honest - running through the Dark Portal with hundreds of people was great.

But yeah. As the Locusts descended on the handful of unprepared mobs, I decided I was too old for all this and went to bed.

Have to see what its like tonight.

I assumed this is the case for many. This launch was so sad compared to classic. One fourth of the twitch hype, every other engagement metric is 1/10th of classic.

Personally i just want fresh servers with no mtx. I play with 1 friend and we’re both getting burned out already by all the store mounts and boostie boys. The whole economy is ruined as well.

I will also wait, mostly gonna catch up with gathering profession to start with gaining more gold while also questing when I cross the dark portal ^^

yeah I was hyped to crowdsurf through the Dark Portal the very second we could and march upon Outland with all due haste…

then I realised I’m no longer 15 years old and Outland will still be their next week so for now I’m grinding up BS and harvesting all the vanilla mining nodes unopposed!!

Eh, it wasn’t too terrible. My guild had a ā€œmarch to the Portalā€ event, and some Alliance joined us in the Blasted Lands as well. And there was a lot of excitement and server love going around in the chat channels (at least Horde side), it all felt very heart warming. I’m glad I was there, especially since I started WoW shortly after original TBC launch so I did not get to experience the opening of the Dark Portal.

That been said, I didn’t quest too much. Partly because of the crowds, mostly because I wanted to sleep :stuck_out_tongue:
