Tell me why not to play Restoration Shaman

I just tested it.
It took me 8 chain heal cast to top me from 80k to 700k HP with me being the prime target. I had no crits and riptide up.
So yea if you have no procs for chain heal, you need a lot of chain heal casts.

yes of course it depends on the bosses.
Just saying that rsham isn’t all that great it this department

OK. I believe you. But spamming Chain Heal is not supposed to be your answer to healing up a group. Outside of CD windows. That is what I was going at.

If the group is being hit by damage, to get the group back up I use a combination of Chain heal, Healing Surge/Wave, and Riptide. With CB totem to pad up the last bit.

Also mastery. It plays a roll as well. I had 150k normal primary target hits depending on the life of the individual.

So its easy to heal people from 1% to 50% with 1 or 2 CH. Its much harder to do so from 50% to 100%. But since they are no longer in imminent danger, you can use more efficient spells/CB to finish it out.

In fact, its a whole art to keep people barely alive, but within healing to maximize mastery throughput. I did that a lot in HoI 3rd boss. By keeping people deliberately between 30 and 50%. Because then any chain heal becomes massive and tops the group up. And saves mana.
