The absolute desolation of playing a pandaren

The problem is, I am specifically refering to the playable pandarens from the wandering isle, the ones that are known to be adventurous and proactive and that are actually part of the two factions.

It seems blizzard went to the trouble of creating these two distinct philosophies but to no end. They focus only on neutral pandaren. To hell with huojin and tushui.

I mean tushui and huojin join because they are driven by the same motivations as the factions. The idea go “yeah, nah” to what their faction is doing is totally against what they’re presented as within the wandering isle.

They had massive development in Legion.

Where?
All the pandarens in the various order halls were members of the shadopan (neutral) or random monks from pandaria.

And as I said Ji was the only horde leader missing in the Sylvanas and Gallywix cinematic. I won’t call that “development”.

We had an entire expansion dedicated to them.

Pandarens in general are april’s fool joke race made only to bait asian community into game but that was horrible decision that only ruined game lorewise adding trashiness flavour to game ; They should really clean up the game and remove pandarens entirely ; Purging their npc’s from faction capitals would be good start ;

Take sympathy on Vulperans then. Who the hell introduced those weirdo’s?

Love Pandas but I do wish they’d make em’ a bit more fierce, they definitely deserve some more attention!

Looking forward to their heritage armor.

Come on now.

It took place on The Wandering Isle. Aysa and Ji were both present on the island. I don’t know what Ji is doing in BfA but Aysa is meditating in Kul’tiras.

Again, Pandaren are reclusive and averse to conflict. You won’t see much of them outside Pandaria or in wartime in general. You only see them when they are personally threatened. That’s just how it is.

Regarding Ji Firepaw not being in the Horde cinematic, he was on the Wandering Isle with Aysa. Like her, he didn’t want to have anything to do with the faction conflict, and that’s why the relationship wasn’t explored in BfA’s story. They hid away from it like Pandaren like to do.

Given the amount of backlash the game got about the new setting and the new race when Mists was first unveiled/released, and the lack of popularity for Pandaren as a race choice for player characters (realm pop/census websites report many Allied Races have more characters active than both Alliance and Horde Pandaren combined), you can’t really blame the writers for marginalizing Pandaren in the story - they are going with what the game’s community has told them.

I am not sure which I have seen less - alliance panderan or mechagnomes ?

To be fair…the Huojin+Tushui plotlines WERE resolved at the end of MoP.

The Horde took a huge dump on Pandaria, the Huojin and Ji; Aysa (the Tushui leader) had to rescue him from Orgrimmar and they are supposedly a couple since then.

So tell me: What do you make of that story if you
a) Only care about Horde-Story development
b) Always try and build up some hopes for cross-faction something only to then tear them down with a bulldozer

They could not show both Pandaren happy on the Alliance because that would have meant telling Alliance story, and Blizzard never does that.
They could not show both Pandaren on the Horde, since Ji has exactly no reason to even still be in the Horde himself and Aysa joining him there sounds like BFA-level of storytelling.

The best solution would have been to have BOTH leave the factions and return home, together. But this would have meant the factions needed new leaders with some introduction, which would have actually required work.

So just not ever mentioning them again seems like the logical thing to do at this point and i am fairly certain that is exactly what Blizzard intends to do for the next decade.
Of course they will be paraded around in the backround from time to time just to make sure there is a pandaren on the screenshot.

you keep repeating that but lorewise chen stormstout is one of the founders of the new horde so if you think pandas are just a joke race go play alliance you filthy traitor :stuck_out_tongue:

Just to clear some things up:

  • Pandaren have been in consideration as a playable race as early as The Burning Crusade had been in development. The initial idea was to release was release tourist guides about the Pandaren, Chen Stormstout and their lore - but they considered doing an expansion about them.
  • The backlash comes from the Kung Fu Panda movie release with Jack Black. Back in the day people simply thought that the Pandaren were considered because of the hype - which is not true. A expansion usually takes 4-5 years to develop as a whole (scenario, design, art, …)
  • Pandaren themselves are fine in the game. People often argue that they “ruined” WoW but looking back you have simply a big messed up culture-clash inGame: Celtic, European, Asian and so on. In the end, they fit into the game but are just not accepted because of its immature player base. And they will not stop doing this anytime soon.

Come on dude what were you smoking ?? Pandarens are just bad joke just like these fish-disguised nightelves allying with Alliance in Pandaria ; Frankly got no idea how their in-game model was accepted by quality control team but it’s still in game somehow ;

It’s a high fantasy game, you will see even more races coming to the game in the future at one point. Beaver-like animals, lions, etc. - everything is possible. Next expansion we get Narnia-like creatures and owls who are blacksmiths.

Their model is fine but the armors they were are not which is problematic. The Pandaren were a passion project, believe it or not. I have read topics back from the launch and there were no denying in how well done these stances were, especially the sword idle animations.

I love pandaren!!..they need more love…more fur color options…(black and white pandas with long tail option) males having long tail option too!! druid pandarens!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
