The Blood Elves and their future

Well Leià just meant honor the memory of Dath’Remar for his Highborne past even before he reached Quel’thalas and founded Silvermoon, not getting him back as a leader…and if Kael’thas returns to life somehow and start to kill Lor’themar or other people, it’s not a good way to restart his rule in Quel’thalas … but there should indeed be a meeting between Kael and Lor in the Shadowlands and he could at least make things clear about what he said about “there will never be a King ever again in Quel’thalas”, if that’s actually still valid as a royal decree now that he’s been dead for so long, or not…so that the Blood Elves can completely move away from the idea of having a King once again in the future, or just a Regent Lord like Lor’themar (who at this point of the story is basically just like a King but with a different name…)

but I also know there is a dream / prophecy (in a book, Blood of the Highborne) that Lor’themar will eventually die burning in a magical fire, so Kael’thas would definitely be a possibility as his killer in this prophecy…or Jaina…or, if they go mad, Rommath or even Thalyssra…not that I would really like the latter two ones killing him, of course…especially Thalyssra now considering their relationship

The prophecy seemed to be fulfilled when undead Dar’khan almost killed Lor’themar with fire magic, but then he was healed by Lady Liadrin and the Blood Knights, and then Lor’themar killed Dar’khan (but then he returned later in TBC and the players kill him again forever, I guess), so technically he avoided the prophecy there, but it could still be valid tho for his death in the future…

Lor’themar is a buffoon. We would all be better off if he died. Then the blood elf can truly be free and powerful again.

Why you respond to the troll is beyond me. I have him on my blocked list, so he wastes his time responding to me.

Bingo.

It relates back to one of the very first quests for all Blood Elves, where you have to go and honor the Shrine of Dath’Remar.

Of all Highborne / Night Elves, it’s these kaldorei that the Blood Elves still hold with deep reverence.

Lor’themar is the only leader who behaves like a leader and is completely relatable for not having any sort of external power (Arcane, Fel, Elune etc)

It’s why I relate so much to him and how he never wanted the position of leader of the Sin’dorei and how he wonders about whether he makes the correct choice. He maybe of Highborne descent, but Theron behaves like an actual leader and his people, the Sin’dorei, respect him for it.
The only ones who I believe, would hold any sort of discontent with Theron would the Warlocks, but how many of them are in Quel’Thalas society, by comparison of the core Magisters, the Blood Knights and the Farstriders - all of which, honor Lor’themar as their leader.

Lor’themar also has a fanbase. Kael’thas does, just like Azshara and Elisande, but I’ve never known of leaders who turned to the Legion, coming back and being accepted. Yes, Kael and Elisande did it because they thought they were saving their people, but still…

Plus, don’t forget about Lady Liadrin. She hates Kael’thas. At every moment she could, where her and the Nightborne could talk “leaders” she badmouthed Kael’thas to no end. I don’t think Blizzard are going to make a core part of the Quel’Thalas society, leaderless, for the sake of somebody who is deceased. I think Shadowlands is such a bad expansion, that all characters involved (including those alive) should remain their until the stain has past.

Fortunately for us, that means all Sin’dorei are still around (and Shal’dorei.)

EDIT: It makes me a little sad that people seem to be crapping on the Farstriders, just because they don’t wield otherworldly powers. I love the Magisters - my main is a Blood Elf Arcane/Frost Mage, but the Farstriders are just as a good and have shown true leadership - especially when a large bulk of the Magisters left Quel’Thalas for Outland and it was the Blood Hawk Farstriders and the Rangers at the Farstrider Enclave in the Ghostlands, who were dealing with imminent dangers.

I think the best thing in terms of blood elf storyline is to turn and focus on silvermoon and repairing their homelands. Deal with the scar and just generally take a bit to deal with internal affairs I mean as far as lore goes you guys haven’t had a break to pause and rebuild since you joined the horde.

I think in general the next XP should just focus on the races taking a break to just sort out there issues, night elves and undead need a new home, gnomes, worgen and goblins need to finally retake their homes. It would be a good time to sort out some of the ambiguous borders between the alliance and the horde. The allied races need to strike out and carve there own spaces in Azeroth, maybe court some new playable races in the downtime.

Tbh I don’t think Goblins care much about Kezan… They’re probably satisfied with their new home in Azshara.

100% agree with your post. We need an expansion like that, especially in regards to all the new nations BfA brought into the faction game. However I doubt Blizzard will give us that… they likely won’t find it very exciting to have an xpac centered around rebuilding the factions, healing from the war and dealing with geopolitics. That’d only please us nerds.

I really want it because I want a damn break from running pillar to post saving the cosmos from [insert existential threat here]. I want one expansion where im not the big god damn hero, im the guy you ask to do mundane stuff like killing bandits, thinning the local bear population to stop people being mauled. collecting supplies and helping people with odd jobs. I want to see azeroth on the micro scale again not the macro scale

It’s like what I said earlier.

We can’t deny, Blizzard does love using the Blood Elf race to be play some part within their stories. Kael’thas and his atonement was all about how he failed his people.

But - that being said, it would be nice for some of that love that Blizzard does give the Blood Elves, for it to be directed towards Quel’Thalas (Ghostlands, Eversong and Quel’Danas.)

Yes.

Now, I do think the Elven outlook better places them on the Horde - especially with the word of the Grand Magister being extremely influential. Hell, he didn’t even approve of the idea of Aethas joining with Modera and going to Dalaran and that was only for neutral purposes.

How do you think we gnomes feel about our lore.

Well, I’m sure you’d be able to open up your own thread about how you feel about the Gnome lore :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Pretty lucky, actually, considering how it looks for the races that got more focus. Even when we got a patch zone it didn’t feel botched.

Faith in the Light has always been around since Silvermoon’s Priesthood came into full swing. Now, unlike the Night Elves, the Quel’Thalas Priesthood was not as big or as involved as the Sisterhood of Elune.

As far as I could see, the main leaders of the High Elf society was Anasterian with Belo’vir and Sylvanas as the two “assistant” leads as they were the Grand Magister and Ranger General respectively.
Liadrin was close to being elected as High Priestess, before the fall of Silvermoon, but that didn’t mean that Vandellor was stepping down as High Priest. So Light worship was always involved in Quel’Thalas, but it was never as big as the faith in Elune. Obviously, with the Blood Knights being the core stalwart, heavy armored defenders - the Light does now make up a core third of Quel’Thalas’ sections.

What you have to remember is that no current Blood Elf or High Elf was a Highborne Mage under Azshara, so not every Blood Elf or High Elf is going to go down the “arcane” route. Legacy bloodlines like the Windrunners are destined to become Rangers and Farstriders.
