From my opinion there should be at least one seasonal Classic server per year and you should have the option to transfer him to Retail. This way you earn him but he is still available.

I’d love to take a look at Cataclysm Classic and am happy to be able to get to experience the Classic experience of World of Warcraft as someone who has not played the game until about a year ago. I’m playing on a Mac with M1. The game crashes when logging in after character creation, unfortunately. I’m not sure what I could do to get into the game.
