They’re part of nelf lore. Nagas were highborne and highborne were nelves. They’re not now the same race but they have common history.
If you’re interested in the Highborne part of the lore then by default you should be interested in naga, no?
And it was more referring to Kalibas because he was constantly typing about Arcane part of nelf heritage, well - these are the naga nowadays. And some small offshots like undead elves of Azsuna and those few remaining mages that were accepted back in Cataclysm.
He even wrote a massive thread to restore Nazjatar for crying out loud
(Rebuild Zin'Azhari for new night elf capital or reclaim Suramar?) , so he agrees that this is nelf related asset and Lore. I’m using his logic.
