The Maw is an absolute cancerous zone

I’m Venthyr :frowning:

Time for an alt then

not possible, had 30 man raid killing it today a minute after i got in the maw and I made it there. LOL

its litearlly, not possible, unless you stopped running.

I think the same applies to all covenants you have to go there for the campaign : /

hmmm well I’ll see how it goes, but if it is mandatory for campaign progress, I actually might unsub.

I’m pretty sure the maw is actually a bit part of the campaign progress unfortunately which is one of the reasons I might skip the campaign entirely

Necrolords also had you go back into the maw iirc, chances are that all covenants have quests that take you there.

I mean, I can handle one trip back, but if I need to keep repeating stuff in there, it’s a no-no. It’s just a completely joyless experience and I don’t need to pay for that

I’m almost certain you have to go there a lot through the campaign unfortunately which might make me skip it all together even if that means being behind

If you purely go there just for the campaign quests and leave asap it shouldn’t be too bad.

Thank god for that because the zone is horrendous , at least without a mount and I have no clue at all how to get the mount that works there and if it requires a lot of things to do

The maw is cool, get over it kiddo

The lack of mounting is what will sour a lot of people to the concept of the Maw. I know it’s made me think less of the zone, when I was doing the short story line quests in there from levelling. That and the the ‘Dark Souls’ elements of it, and being insta killed by a non-elite mob when I was full health, also hasn’t warmed me to the zone since.
So giving it some months won’t help, as people will not grow to like it; they will either be fine with it from the get go, or have growing frustration and resentment towards it. And that’s not good for the life of the expansion.

The Maw runs the risk of being a disaster on the level of Azerite Gear, a system that is such a mistake it takes development time and resources away from other aspects of the expansion to ‘fix’, meaning the Dev team is then playing catch up. And we all saw how that worked out with BFA. If something isn’t done soon to mitigate how players ‘feel’ about the zone, complaints are only going to grow.
The obvious, quickest and cheapest solution, is to allow mounts in there (once the PC has returned at level 60).
Is that perfect? No.
Does it solve all the problems? No.
But the quickest path to anger and resentment is the ‘feeling of being inconvenienced for no reason’. Allowing people to travel a little bit quicker around the zone, would help make them feel less inconvenienced.

Imagine cancelling a subscription because one zone wasnt to your liking. The Maw is literally meant to be an intimidating wilderness-like zone. And to top it all off, you actually don’t gain any significant power from the maw (yes, sockets) but from the sound of it, you wouldn’t have grinded sockets in visions either etc. So what are you complaining about

You win some, you lose some. Welcome to life! Btw druid travel form = gg there.

The Maw is essentially supposed to be hell. I don’t know why anyone expects the experience there to be pleasant.

Because it’s a game?

They can make it challenging and sinister without making it just cancer to play in.

Just what I was thinking! Personally I found it depressing to look at and painful to get around…which kinda makes me feel like one of the doomed souls.
So good job Blizz on making it so annoying!

So many delusional speech rofl, this zone is awful, not even because of the non-mount stuff, but because it’s mandatory, yes I’ve said mandatory.
You need it for the campaign progress, you need it for sockets, you need it for Torghast improvement, you NEED it and that’s why it sucks.
I will come back in a month to see if all those people “liking it” will keep this statement whatsoever, I harshly doubt it.
