from what i see in high keys, the healer often has to cover a weak def dd with an external. at least for a second or third def cd rotation.
generally i also prefer a design where i can save people as a healer and not be reliant on dds to find their buttons. it is also kind of the purpose for healers.
cds like barrier and slt are great and i think we need more of those instead having too many personals.
1 personal for dds and a maybe a small selfheal should be enough and instead give healers more externals to rotate
Yes. But that is dungeon design. Not class design. I say that damage should not be infinite. It should be caped at some value of “almost a 1-shot” and have mob health scale instead. That is much easier to balance.
Because among other things, DDs with a lot of def (AND damage) would not be meta. So blizz only has to focus on balancing damage. Not damage AND deff. Now only de DDs with the most damage (ONLY) would be meta.
In a world like that, I agree that they should remove some Def from DDs. Or at-least, make vers a sufficiently valuable stat that every DD wants to stack that.
From a healers point of view, we live in a world where DR >>>> throughput. So classes like shaman, a reactive healer (in other words: I raise health bars AFTER the damage) loose a TON of value vs. Proactive healers (in other words: Healers that prevent the damage from coming in the first place).
But by capping damage, you can make all healers relevant again. And by keeping their class identity.
