The Proper High Elf Solution

replace all elf races with gnomes.

high gnomes, void gnomes, blood gnomes
problem solved ty

Let me fix that for you

High Humans, Void Humans, Blood Humans, Night Humans.

I don’t know, Blood Gnomes actually sound interesting. I envision them as connected to the Sand Gnomes back from TBC. Imagine: a savage mix between blood trolls in Nazmir and Sandscalp tribe of Tanaris, but instead of trolls, they’re gnomes. Man, I’d play that!

I believe they added void elves as a response to the 20 years of constant forum posts about alliance needing a blood elf race/rig, then when it happened people were still mad.

The blood elves are the high elves that’s just an undeniable fact I don’t get why people refuse to accept it because they need to play “The Real Original High Elf™” and somehow that will make them feel better/superior.

Belfs are helfs and velfs are also helfs since they are the the same species

They won’t delete the high elf NPC’s and alliance won’t get the high elves in the sense that you want it to exist.

I think somebody should just make an addon to replace the tooltips to say ‘high elf’.

That’ll do it.

What… Kind of cool aid are you drinking…

People made a request relating to multiple groups of high elves that are working for alliance. Blizzard gave us neither with the smurfs and packaged in themes that are just, rude for those who wanted HE, like broken hair and twisted voice lines.

As someone who loves void and tentacle stuff. I hate void elves, not because of their theme but instead they are currently a symbol of blizzard being petty and twisting a long time request they themselves have been inflaming.

Had VE came after HE, it would have been hype. About as hype as fire nelves. It did not and have now only extended a trivial request to fulfil that was already ~13 year old by the time velves were introduced.

It’s nothing about players wanting the superior ar~an race as playable. Only that blizzard actually fulfils what has been requested since vanilla.

Same issue with the mecha gnomes. Instead of the robots from Wotlk, we got… diaper gnomes…

What? i was just replying to the guy above cause i’ve seen so many posts about the High Elves being ‘‘the original’’ or whatever dumb rhetoric is being spouted.

Blizzard doing things out of spite is a tale as old as time but giving VE to Alliance is not one of those things because they can’t add high elves to alliance without it completley breaking established lore and they would have the EXACT same racials as belfs, again if you want to play High Elfs just play a Belf.

Why can’t you accept that High Elves are Belfs why is this such a hard pill to swallow?

High Elves are in massive denial. I’ve even seen some argue that High Elves entire behavior is totally different from that of Blood Elves.

It’s amazing people can’t accept the truth that High Elves and Blood Elves are literally the exact same race. Their only difference is political. Blood Elves are Democrates, High Elves are republicans.

I think Allied Races were a mistake by design. It led to Allied Races (subspecies) with very few and rarely updated customization options.

And misrepresenting the argument. It’s not the “original” we want. It’s the one blizzard introduced to alliance back in vanilla, tbc and wotlk. A sub-faction of the high elves that didn’t swap their racial name after a certain massacre.

By now, non-playable high elves in alliance is more lore breaking. Again at the behest of how blizzard have treated their own game. And no they wouldn’t need the same racials.

Return to point 1.

Yup. Allied races should have been blizzard breaking the faction barrier in a “fun” way. By introducing the same races on each side, though starting with off-shot factions.

Like grimtotem, farakki, high elves, random goblin cartel join the alliance and dark iron, leper gnomes, shen’dalar nelves, nelf worgen join the horde and so on.

But nope, now we have at least 7 allied races that might as well have been customization options for existing ones.

Stop trying to peddle your Radioactive Waste to the Horde… We don’t want Gnomes in any way, shape or form!

Then explain the leper gnomes in Undercity and SILVERMOON!

Ganoosh is clearly an Undead Gnome, not a Leper Gnome.

And the Leper Gnomes in Silvermoon are Slave Workers.

“Ganoosh”
Status: Alive

“Apothecary Jerrod”
Who’s the little guy?

He’s my assistant.

Sure, he’s not been plagued in the same manner as we have, but he is clearly plagued nonetheless. He’s bent the knee to Sylvanas, so he’s as much one of us as you or I.

And just between you and me… to be perfectly honest, I think the Dark Lady thought he was already bending his knee when he entered her chamber!

And as for slaves. Arguably all goblin players were slaves to Gallywix until after BFA. Thanks Thrall!

Ah fair enough. So he is actually a Leper Gnome.

But there is a difference between the Goblins and the Leper Gnome laborers. Our Goblins are not being kept in check by a Succubus, who either keeps them magically seduced or just keeps them in check with violence. They were enslaved via contracts and their own “free” will.
