The removal of LFR in MOP is a deal breaker for me

Sometimes organizing your time is simply impossible. There is no work around having to skip Raids every other week due to Work Schedule. This alone makes a person unsuitable to the core way of Raiding - joining a guild. Especially true if one’s main spec is Healer or Tank but still problematic for DPS as well since without flexible raids the guild cannot field extra people meaning that they need 10/25 people available at all times. Which as I outlined before forces one of two choices, neither particularly good for both Guild and a player with limited time.

This leaved PuGs and between GDKP (which Requires sizeable in game wallet and with WoW Token existing also connects that also is directly influenced by person’s willing to spend real money) and SR loot systems both can prove troublesome. I would consider Classic Progression PuG Community to be bad. The Gear Score, Ilvls Logs and Achievements became absolute gospel which limits one’s ability to join the raids especially if their schedule forced them to miss lockouts.

But obviously that doesn’t matter to people like you.

And no doing it solo in Retail is not an answer. Did ICC that way once… Never felt emptier

I think LFR Is an abomination but it was a huge part of MOP for a lot of players, it’s probably a mistake to not include it. I think they are just being lazy by not implementing.

lfr hes it place tourist mode help farm lego regent faster 2 but yes i agree but it help thos dont time find guild or dont heve time raid

And lfr where raid can be cleared by 6 people with 1 functioning brain cell is not booring?

people weren’t much better back in OG MoP LFR. Half the people there were drooling on the keyboard due to a certain lack of brain activity. And yet still there was no need for buff stacking unless the boss somehow had a mechanic that people couldnt handle within 10 seconds and brainafk’d to death (Looking at you, Elegon floor despawning and half the LFR just instantly dying LMAO)

Think the Celestial or the Cata Twilight protocol’s was really good. Rather have those then Raid Finder like back in the OG MoP time. RF then was “OK”…but here in the future i rather not have it and have the new dungeon systems! But i feel you. We all have things we like

I played Raid Finder to death back in the day precisely because I couldn’t commit to a regular pattern due to working hours and there is a big thing that Blizzard has missed with this.

Raid Finder is not about getting the best loot, fighting the hardest bosses or testing your abilities against other players. It is there to experience the content, the story of the expansion, which would otherwise be inaccessible to a large portion of the player base. Imagine buying a book but being told you can’t read all of it unless you commit to reading a couple of hours every day, or watching a series on Netflix to be told sorry you can’t see some of the episodes because you’re not available to watch them on a regular specific viewing schedule - crazy.

I think the reasons Blizzard have given are flimsy and is likely down to a technical problem or cost cutting. I fear however they will lose a lot of subscribers due to this decision and in 6 months time wonder why the player base is significantly reduced but not connect the dots.

just join a f::king guild
FFS grow up

Alright then dont play it then

Sure. Will your guild or whatever accept a person that guarantees they won’t be able to make it half the time and give them a raid spot?

there isn’t Wod they announced already

I think the reality of the player count in classic probably means that 25 player LFR isn’t feasible unless you funnel players in who don’t want to be there and would rather get the same rewards from Celestial dungeons. There’s just not enough players for both to work, LFR would have queue times of like 2 hours+

I think it was datamined that they were attempting 10 player LFR for Dragon Soul but probably realised it wouldn’t work for comp/buff reasons.

Same, it’s disappointing!

It was a much used tool for people in both Cata and MoP. You could get your tier pieces and it did open the raids for many people without a steady group!
Claiming that no one raided and that it wasn’t used is a pretty bold statement imo.

My speculation is maybe they are worried that there won’t be enough players to consistently fill the 25 man roster for it?
I’ve even had problems finding groups for the replacement dungeons they put in.

I hope that Blizz will come to their senses, and pull their head out of …, and will implement RF later in the game.

I must admit, the decision has grown on me. Celestial Dungeons are a nice little quick thing I can fit into my schedule 3-4 times per week. LRF itself would take way too long in comparison.

I honestly never liked Celestial/Protocol/Titan Rune dungeons. After a while they get stale. I honestly could do without having to see same dungeon for the entire expansion life cycle. And with their availability they become sadly mandatory if you want to get into raiding/maintain the raiding presence. And it will become much more so during MoP where the gear you get will be of current tier. From my experience in both WotLK and Cata It’s very safe to assume that the moment Celestial Dungeons open your bare Minimum for Raiding will be Celestial Gear. Not a perfect thing for myself due to work schedule (for the record posts made by Vurmal are mine) already limiting my active game time to every other week.

Thats what the celestial dungeons are for

As long as they keep normal difficulty easy and forgiveable enough so that casual and not-minmaxed characters can enjoy and clear them with ease to enjoy the story i am OK with LFR removal! More minmaxed oriented people can raid on heroic difficulty ^^

I think normal difficulty was ok on the beta, maybe a few nerfs to elegon and emperor in MSV in normal difficulty is needed but other than that normal was very doable and enjoyable for a casual like me <3

You see there’s a small problem that may show up. The so proclaimed casual community tends to really drive up the requirements for Raiding. Expecting “Need Logs, Achi and Celestial Gear” as a baseline requirement for PuGs as soon as those dungeon get released. Seen that a lot during past expansions.
