The Tavern (with Blackboard)

I’m actually glad I haven’t been in hospital since my 20s. Last time was during a trip to Prague after having had a seizure in the hotel and my mom found me unconscious in my room. Eastern European hospitals might have it even worse regarding funds. The staff was highly professional and seemed to make the best out of their antiquated medical gear though. I can imagine UK hospitals being quite the same. Though I had my moments of questioning some pretty outdated treatment concepts…

Anyways, Afenton! I’ll be done levelling gearing some alts on Ysera by Wednesday! Are we up for haunting Argent Dawn afterwards??? :o

Was it leeches?

I should be available  I’m logged into bnet most of the day but not in game much due to trying to get some writing done and not at all distracting myself on the forums and watching funny cat videos on Facebook :eyes:

Haha. Almost. :')

Getting writing done is highly overrated… I’ve been inserting herbal photo content into an ebook and juggling with the format for about 4 days now. May the goddess help me publish this piece of art…

I shall sneak abouts AD on Friday and then investigate in undead underground cells with my demon hunteress. Dark skinned blood elf destined to be a public enemy for everyone in fear of a black planet… (no musical pun intended…)

Bah… bahhhh!!! Looks like i will be losing a toe!

Its fate for teasing Sinaaki about rotten fish.

Or possibly Afenton hexing me because I made her cry.
I’ll just blame everyone who mocked my awesome pizzas.

You know who you are!

Hope you will be alright… my aunt lost a toe too, cut her nails and went too deep
Septis
It took 3 days…
She is not with us anymore :frowning:
So from the depths of my heart I sincerely hope, you will be alright, but toes are nasty little buggers… take care!
Fingers crossed
And I will sacrifice an unicorn for your health
Or a virgin
Or a virgin unicorn just to be sure!

What did you do to lose a toe?

I know I have difficulties with blood flow in one due to seasonal frostbites. Always looks rather blue and is stiff in winter / early spring. Hope it won’t fall off once.

Anyways, hope you’ll be alright soon again, too.

Long story short, diabetic complications and infected blister that likely has spread to bone. I may… MAY be lucky in the very aggressive antibiotic course ive been on may save some tissue but specialist who i will assume has seen thousands of cases like this has told me its likely I will lose it. Im hoping i get home for a few days at least on oral antibiotics until they make a final decision. Its vexing because my circulation in my feet is good. I was just stupid.

But it has made me wake up and finally accept the reality i have been lax in my diabetes control and i need to drastically improve.

Ugh, the diabetic toe… That one is a really unpleasant side effect of the disease. On the other side, it’s fascinating how your body slaps you in the face if you disregard its needs very often. T_T

So, no jelly beans on pizza anymore and less pizza in general due to carbohydrates, I guess?

once again offers stevia plant (not for the pizza though!)

I dont need to go berserk I generally have been better, my Achilles heel (I could bore you to tears with my encyclopedic knowledge of Greek myths…) remains potato chips which are stuffed with carbs.

Actually going home would give me time to finish my essay on the comparisons between Homer, Virgil and Dante’s themes

I’m only level 10, not even got the good hex to turn you into a sheep yet, maybe if I try I could manage a poorly made blanket though

Sorry to hear you aren’t too good though.

Sorry to hear about your toe Soul. Luckily its «only» a toe and not an entire foot! Hope u are feeling ok :hugs:

Ah, the great food villains and Trojan horses among snacks! I’ve had my history with them, too for a while since their crunchy character really is addictive. Making my own vegetable chips has cured me though.

Oh? Tell me more. :eyes:

Oh its just a little essay comparing the similarities in structures of the Oddysey, the Aeneid and the Commedia and how their biases affected the stories.

I look forward to reading this highly unusual, yet intriguing essay.

Dante was copying from Vergil and Vergil was copying from Homer. End of essay. :joy:

Knowing Soul he will have them all in a deathmatch at the end of the essay lol

I’ve never actually managed to read Dante, to my utter shame its one of two pieces of literature that have defeated me.

There’s quite the interesting animation movie based on the Dante’s Inferno video game. Of course it’s not really transporting the poetic level of speech anywhere near literature standards, but nice to watch. Especially since the movie is split into six chapters which were animated by six different animation studios in six different animation styles.

Ouch
Hope you will be alright
On the bright side, you could replace it with a lil wooden peg-toe
And be a (very) Novice-pirate
And hope you don’t have to advance in your new prestige-class :frowning:

I actually enjoyed that game. I was dismayed to learn EA shut down the studio before the sequel was made. Obviously artistic licence took over but over all it stuck close to the source material. Only think I griped over and this purely nerdism is that there are no fires outside of Dis as it is part of Dante’s symbolism of the sins of incontinence which the first circles punish. I particularly noted how detailed Lucifer was. As in… very detailed to the point if you look closely you are in fact slashing the bejesus out of his godly bits.

I also ned to finish my own epic…
