The Toxicity Has To Stop; Why Would New Players Stay?

How dare new players want to experience a core part of the game.

If a seasoned player can’t handle a levelling dungeon taking not that much longer because someone else is new to the game they could always either just level in the open world or buy a level boost.

Vote Kicking or being abusive doesn’t help that player get accustomed to the game but rather leaves them thinking the game is full awful people.

There is no need for thick skin, and this is not something everybody is capable of. Toxic behaviour should have consequences. Of course you wont be able to avoid it entirely but it will be far less this way.

Is it not tho?

In my old hardcore raid guild my main was in, the raid leader who was, back then, as hardcore as they come would say this at the start of every raid: “The fastest way to clear this raid is by dying fewer times, which means we do it without rushing into mobs and without stopping to rebuff and give healers a chance to replenish their mana, etc.”

Nope, I disagree wholly with your mentality. There’s no need for calling people “snowflake” for wanting extra time to do a dungeon, raid or whatever to PREVENT unnecessary wipes. If the healer dies and you, as the paladin tank, runs out of all mana who is there to rez you when you wipe…? We’d celebrate if we did a raid without anyone dying and it didn’t matter if we did it in five hours instead of three, because going SLOWER meant we’d succeeded. Also, my old hardcore raid leader was in the military before where the mentality is taught by default.

Do you really think the top raid guilds go as fast as possible with no regard to doing it as safely as they can? Nope, they’ve trained to do a raid with the SAME mentality that my old raid leader would state. Practice gives a person the ability to do stuff instinctively, but I doubt any half-decent raider or dungeoneer would say that doing things in a safer way makes someone a snowflake. I feel sorry for you for having such a warped mindset because you proved with this comment where the “toxicity” in this game happens. It happens with people who are too quick off the mark with bullying, nasty comments or making out other players aren’t as good…

No, the negative people in game are just more than happy to reveal themselves.

There does exist community’s which outright state NO TOXIC behaviour else you will be booted from the community. You just need to look for them.

I do feel that these communitys could do with a promotion from blizzard to new players as a good starting ground and if these players become toxic then they will be kicked out to mingle with other toxic people.

but yes in PUG groups toxicity exists, it is everywhere on the internet not just in games look at LOL , or any other game where group play exists. You can even find toxic people who post on news comments on news websites.

But on news website you will see a lot less of these comments then in one LOL game, because games are competitive and people lack compassion therefore they get crippled by their competitive feelings.

In the subject of leveling? Definitely YES.
If you can’t be welcoming to new players that CAN’T go to your speed or have your knowledge you are toxic, period.
You can hide behind being efficient or about valuing your time, but you are still toxic.

And also, if you value your time soo much to be a trashcan of a person to a new player in a dungeon because you “value your time don’t wanna take 323872 hours to clear a dungeon”, then you should not be there either considering dungeons are time inefficient way to level up in the first place especially up to level 50.

They really aren’t.

Whats your best /played 1-50 spamming dungeons?

I lvled this char through a mix of questing, BGs and dungeons. It took me about 20 hours to get to 50. Most of that time was spent questing.

My shaman, that I lvled only through dungeons, took 14 hours.

My best leveling run via questing took around 8 hours. And i really am not an optimizer, could have squeezed way more if i wanted to, adding wm/buffs/weapon enchants etc…

Now i am not saying that dungeon spamming is horrible or whatever. But if you are so horrible towards new player and caring about your time, then there are better ways to level up

So many of your posts buried today i hope you appeal if you get any vacation as it looks very much an alt flagger or a group coordinated the flags if so the same happened to me they found that the system had been abused.

Lol, it’s not just today. They’ve been going through my post history until I hid it and flagged a lot of old posts as well. Been at it for almost 3 days by now, lol.

It is so bad and vindictive to do that :hugs:

You are not addressing the point at all. Shamans were ONLY healers.

I’d like to see Blizz take an active stance against toxic behaviour in general instead of guiding new players towards “safe zones”
Problem is they’re so afraid of losing players from their dwindeling player base, that they would rather sit back and let people ruin the experience for others, wether that be in game or in the forums. Unfortunately banning ppl for a few weeks doesn’t stop them. It just makes those type of ppl come back even harder, like they just got some kind of acievement for being a cheddar

And lets be honest - The PvP was usually you getting rolled by a group of people.

Might be right, but we were limited by our skill and the difficulty of the boss. It’s almost impossible to evaluate the difficulty today because you can’t compare MoP to SL. During MoP Class design was at it’s peak. Borrowed powers were limited to thelegendary cloak and your class never felt gutted for half of the time at the start of a raid.

This season tier pieces and the way they introduced them in a gated way, destroyed every feeling of “Is it a me or a Blizz problem?” and some classes felt weaker than during the previous season.

IMO the only one that is to blame here is the million dollar company who is incapable of proper game and reward design.

But some other MMOs aren’t that toxic
